Is anything going around at Disney?

This morning I started feeling bad around 8:30. We were coming out of Toontown and I was nauseous and felt like I was going to pass out. My whole body became tired. I couldn't keep my eyes open. Waited in line for Jungle Cruise and started feeling worse. Dizzy and nauseous with a headache. So I thought probably dehydrated. Haven't eaten anything . Drank a smart water when got off ride. Started having chills so decided to go to first aid. So first aid said probably dehydration. Then I asked for a blanket and she took temp and it was 102. I laid there about an hour and then went back to room. Since then, I've eaten a little and taken some tylenol. My ha is starting to go away nausea is gone. But still feel feverish. Anyone else have any of the same symptoms? I'm not one to EVER run a temperature so having a fever makes me almost dead.

The reality is there's always going to be illness at Disney. There are people who won't cancel their trip just because someone is sick. There are illnesses that take awhile to incubate that people come down with while they're there. There are CMs who can't or won't take a day off when they might be coming down with something. And there are people who don't wash their hands and change diapers on every conceivable park surface. No one can ever say that they got a stomach ailment from Disney dining, from another guest or from a hand rail. Likewise unless someone knows that they have (like the measles outbreak last year) you'll never know when you were exposed due to varying periods of incubation.

With the extreme heat these days, it isn't surprising that people aren't feeling well at DLR. Heat exhaustion and dehydration happen so quickly and without people noticing. Add the extra physical exertion of a regular DLR day and no wonder people don't feel well. A CM at the ticket booths on Sunday said that his friend in First Aid reported lots of guests stopping by complaining of not feeling well.

I got strep throat whilst there last month.

Sure it was because i got soaked watching world of color.

Get well soon.

If you have ever had heat exhaustion you are prone to getting it again and you can get it much easier after the first time. Drink some coconut water and place something cold in the back of your neck. Hope you feel better.

The Flu is already hitting in several states--I know it's kind of early but it already spreading!!

Sorry you are sick! Most bugs take a few days to a week or so to incubate, so you could have picked it up before you got to Disney and have been "brewing" it. Rest, push fluids, ibuprofen and hope it passes soon!

Members of my family have gotten sick with respatory things soon after we got to disney on several occasions. I chalk it up to airliners regurgitated air.

Thanks you all. I am feeling better now. Fever has broke. I'm hoping to go back to the park later for a little while.

Did it break because of the drugs you took for it (tylenol), or because your body's immune system stopped it? If the former, stay in the room. You're still sick. If you're worried about something going around, don't be the one to help it go around.

And there's stuff going around all the time, everywhere. If we're sick, we should stay away from other people, if we're the type to worry about things like this.

Our rule is 24 hours without a fever, and without tylenol/ibuprofen before leaving the house. If you go out with a Tylenol-controlled fever, you're going to be the one spreading something around.

i like to refer to disney as the germ capitol of the world lol. you cant guarantee every one is going to wash their hands or be in perfect health while in the park. with how packed it can get, your bound to come into contact with someone who is ill. im not a germ-a-phobe at home, but i am in the park. i keep my hand sanitizer with me at all times and even go as far as to wipe down the room with lysol wipes before i let my family in. nothing ruins a vacation more than being sick, i hope your feeling better, and was able to get some more park time!:)

(((big hugs))) Hope you are feeling better soon and no one in your family gets sick. Everyone but my husband (me and my 3 kids) got sick at Disneyland last month. I was in and out of the sundries shop in the GCH for medicine. We went through the meds I usually pack where ever we go (ibuprofen, actephenamine, etc). Next time, I will double the meds we bring and double the Jamba Juice gift cards. Got the extra boost of zinc, vitamins, etc in the smoothies from Jamba Juice and that did help.

I'll grab me some Jamba juice on the way back:) I'm actually fixing to go back to the hotel. I started sweating and getting nauseous again not too long after being here and the crowds are unbearable.

Honestly, that sounds like the flu to me (fever, chills, body aches, fatigue), not really dehydration but what do I know? It's cold/flu season now especially. But think about it... lots of kids, most that pick their noses (adults too), don't wash hands, touch everything, etc, your chances of getting sick from there is more likely than most places. I carry sanitizer everywhere, I put some on all our hands after every ride, before we eat, etc.

Our trip is in less than 2 weeks... DD and I already got our flu vaccines and DH is getting his next Friday.

I just got back from DL yesterday and had no problems, but I did see the medics take out one person from the Hungry Bear on a gurney and while I was in line for Small World one of the cast members was telling us they were down to one side because they had a medical aid on the other and when they had that taken care of they would open that side back up.

Awesome! The smoothie from Jamba Juice will help keep you hydrated and with the added boosts, will help you fight the bug you got. Perhaps you can find a spot in the shade and people watch in DTD or watch fireworks from DTD. Good luck to you. Perhaps a do over trips is in store for you.
