Is anyone watching 10.5??? (Possible Spoilers)

Am I the only one who likes this move? Cheesy or not, I love disaster movies! Plus, I like actress Kaley Cuoco (sp?) who plays the teenage girl (though her character is indeed whiny, but I've come to expect it from that actress, figuring she's Bridget on 8 Simple Rules!). But I enjoyed the first half, but missed the train scene.

One thing I thought about though...when the dad saw the dead couple...why were they like that? I mean, if they were buried alive, as it was implied, would they still have panic stricken faces, just sitting there in their seats, looking out of their front windsheild? You saw the dad, and daughter. They tried to get out, and even if they couldn't, they were moving around, and definitely not just sitting there.

Other than that I liked it. :o

I too am a part of the bad FX gang, not to mention that the script and acting leave something to be desired. Just waching a model train in what look like diorama scenery was almost funny. I could nitpick this movie to death, but will still watch it tonight. LOL

Somehow, living in earthquake country, watching this wasn't even a remote desire. I knew it wouldn't be at all realistic (all the local seismologists said so.) I watched the good stuff on ABC instead.

No wonder the Governer divorced that guy, he's an idiot. First he takes his DD wgho has asthma into agiant cloud of dust, then climbs off a cliff to the buried town, then when the car was sinking he opens the window that has gravel coming in it..I was yelling hey idiot, look up you have a sun roof!
Was I the only one waiting for John Schneider to turn into Bo Duke and jump that sinkhole? :p

With all the miniatures used in this movie, I am just waiting for this guy to show up......

How about that earthquake that chased the train?
It was like that earthquake was personally after the train. It followed track until it swallowed the train.

They had some pretty good models.

We were rolling on the floor laughing at that part. I said my 10 yr old ds could have filmed that to look better with his trains! DH also said, who builds train tracks that run on top of a fault line LOL. But I suppose this fault line is so "deep" (as they kept saying) that no one knew it was there. That said, I LOVE bad disaster movies, and I can't wait for part two tonight.

Also loved it when the Golden Gate bridge went, that would really ruin your day wouldn't it?? LOL.

I was yelling at Bo Duke to get out of the car, jeez, could they have waited any longer to decide it's time to get out? And dh and I were both saying, duh, sunroof!!!

My wife loves these kinds of movies (does anyone remember "Superfire"), so I got sucked into watching a little, but couldn't watch too much, the camera jumping in and out, jerking from one person to another, and having extras walk in between the camera and actors in focus repeatedly was just too disorienting, it gave me a headache.

Darn - I missed it. Maybe I'll buy it when it comes out on DVD.

Ohhhhh - my DH taped it  I'm sure he could make a copy and send it to you if you REALLY want to see it.

But what s going to happen to disneyland,,,, waiting
to see if its even touched on,,lol,,, but then,,,,, i was trying to remind Bo that that explorer wasnt the general lee,, right after he turned it off highway at the police roadblock,,,,, which in real life would have had him immediatly chased shot and locked up..lol....maybe the cops knew his daughter..... shrugs coulda been worse,,. theyt might have shown a fear factor marathon,, or joe blah ,,, i kinda liked the campy fx and the hot wheels fallling of the (obviously) plastic brige was priceless,, i mean evenb cheepos shoulda at least had drivers in the ones that was falling off. oh well will be watching tonight,, gotta see the ending...

I kept saying “ I think I can, I think I can, I think I can” My boys got a kick out of this one.

I'm wondering if we will have time for romance between the two seismologists? (Or whatever they are):D

Also will the governor, her ex and daughter all survive? They have to have some type of happy conclusion, right! It is a made for TV movie after all. :D

DD and I also love these kind of cheesy TV movies. The jerky camera gives her a headache, though. I'm was getting headache from that teenager!

Laughed out loud when the earthquake stalked the train. DD shouted at the TV when the Mayor's ex drove into that sinkhole, "It swallowed a whole town.... it's gonna get you, too! Idiot!" Thought the part with the Rachel in the Mayor's office & her DH who wanted the baby was irritating. Yeah..... like my DH would call me repeatedly at work during a disaster. Do you think she will live and find out she's pregnant? Also, the FEMA guy got to the West Coast in record time.

I'll have to TiVo it tonight. I know I'll have a blast watching the cheesy scenes over and over!

Oh! What a relief! I was afraid this was going to be a thread about how great this one was.:p

I just caught some of the beginning and, oh my word, the acting, the dialogue, the PLOT! A horror! :p

I'm glad people found some redeeming "cheese" value, though.;)

Disaster movies are fun to watch! I saw one a couple of weeks ago called Tornado Warning or Alert or something. Anyway, living in the bottom part of Tornado Alley you would think that I wouldn't watch those kind, but I do.

Did anyone notice that the dad's name is "Clark"? Made me think of his son "Clark" on Smallville. Too bad he doesn't have any super powers to help them out.

I'll be taping tonights final part to enjoy!

O.K. I have to admit that I'm hooked! The first 5 minutes of the guy on the bike trying to outrun the falling Space Needle got me. DS (7) and I were literally yelling at the guy on TV - turn! Turn! What idiot would ride in a straight line when the freakin' Space Needle is falling on you! And when they showed the supposed - Seattle skyline - I'm still trying to figure out where that was supposed to be...

DH came in late and saw just the last hour - the teenage daughter drove him nuts. I told him this is why we don't have any daughters! ;)

Gosh it's sounds so bad, I'm going to HAVE to watch the other half tonight!!!:earseek: :teeth:

I missed the 1st 1/2 hour or so - wish I'd seen that train scene. But I am hooked. I already set my VCR incase I miss it for some reason tonight.

This movie was so cheesy it was funny!!! DS (12) and I watched the 1st 1/2 last night and will probably watch tonight.

DS was yelling at the guy on the bike too. The train scene and the bridge scene just killed me...lol!!!

Have fun wathcing it tonight everyone!!
