I'm planning an Oct 2012 trip for myself, DH, and three sons, who will be 34 months (still free, baby!), 7 years 11 months, and the middle guy will be turning 5 on the trip, and it could be on a night we go to the MHP! We're all about Cars Land.
I'm still hoping to convince my sister to come along, too. Whether we have her as a sixth person determines where we might stay, as we would HAVE to get a suite and/or adjoining rooms. I'm interested in Desert Palm Suites, Kids Suite at Hojo, Ramada Maingate, and Paradise Pier, but open to learning about other places. PPH is more if she does not come, then we'd splurge on a theme-park room there.
I went to school in LA (Fight On, Trojans!), so we hope to spend a day in LA, too, and the whole area is relatively familiar to me. So I'm also open to flying into LAX, OC, SD, or Vegas. For example, I saw some Southwest Vegas fares that would be $350 cheaper than flying into LAX for the five of us, which would pay for our rental minivan. I would welcome the chance to spend a day on the Strip or on a San Diego beach before road-tripping to Anaheim.
Very exciting that the Good Neighbors should start publishing 2012 rates in a month, but EXHAUSTING to think I might have to continue shopping around for all the Disney deals and rate drops that occur throughout the year, dealing with changes and cancellations to possibly save a lot of money. I wish they'd offer early bookers a deal and I could be done.
I'm working evenings at a rotten job to earn money for this trip, and I have $3300 so far, so feeling good.
Nice to find some other early planners!
