Is anyone having luck getting to Frozen ride at rope drop and not waiting FOREVER??

MY 60 days window is today. I was able to book Frozen ONLY at night for our first park day. I had planned to go to MK that day so my fast passes were going to be used there. MY EC day is the next day and NO FROZEN FAST PASSES. UGH SO my plan was to FP Frozen and go straight to Soarin. Now I am thinking I will try going to Frozen first but then I bet the line will be very long by the time we get there. That is much further to make at RD.

Last week I rode about 30 mins after park opening and the wait time was only 30 min's. The posted wait time was 45 min.

Yes. We rode it around July 1st, don't remember the exact date anymore but it was only a week or so after it had opened. Before our trip, I tried daily once my 30 day FP+ window opened but could never get FEA, so we figured we'd just miss out. But that morning, we were in Epcot right after RD. We did a ride and had some time before our first FP+. My daughter really wanted to see FEA, as did all of us. At that point, it was around 9:45am. The MDE app said the wait was 70 minutes, which was the shortest we'd seen it since the ride opened. I checked the Lines App, and it said 30 or 40 minutes, I forget which exactly. We decided to just go for it, since we had time to kill. I used the Lines app to time our wait...27 minutes, despite the MDE app still saying 70. I think the reason our wait was so short was that while we were there, very few FP+ people came through, so it was all standby riding.

My trip is in late Sept, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around what to do about this.

My 30 day fast pass window doesn't start until next week, but I already know FEA fastpasses aren't available, thanks to helpful board members and touring plans. That said, I plan to check regularly to see if any open up, but I'm being a realist and assuming they won't for now. And the fallback plan would be an early Soarin Fast Pass.

Complicating things a little further, we have a breakfast reservation at Garden Grill for 8:10. That said, food and wine is happening that day, so we're thinking of skipping and/or canceling it. Just doesn't feel like a good use of the money, when we'd rather not fill up before food & wine anyway. (Stupid question: Does anyone know if you HAVE to get the all-you-can eat breakfast at Garden Grill? Could we just like... get breakfast Mimosas and leave?)

FEA is my number 1 priority, but I'd like to do some of the other Future World rides also, before world showcase opens and food & wine starts. Trying to cram in as much as possible before we settle into world showcase, but don't know what the most efficient way is.

Keep the ADR, try to get out early, and go straight to Frozen?
Keep the ADR, ride Soarin while everyone else rides Frozen, then try to get on Frozen after?
Ditch the ADR and go straight to Frozen?

Can't really decide.

Was at Epcot yesterday. Went to our Frozen FP around 12:30pm and the line was posted at 60minutes.

Anyone with actual RD experience of this ride? Does the ride still break down as often as it did when opening? It seems to be down about half the time when I check.

Our experience in July - at rope drop early-one of the 1st in line- park opened at 830-quickly walked to WS- held right before Mexico til 9-slowly walked to Norway accompanied by CMs- line was roped off and organized- we were on the ride in 15 minutes

If it's an all you care to eat character experience, then yes you HAVE to get it. You don't have to eat it I guess, but you will be charged for it.

** this. There needs to just be an all you can drink buffet. With maybe some bacon.

We tried to RD last weekend and when we got over to that area we were told the ride was down. We tried again on Monday and were able to walk right on the ride. We didn't even wait 5 minutes. After we rode, we walked over to Soarin and rode that with about a 15 minute wait. We were staying at BC and entered through the IG. They let us into the park a little early and it seemed like we beat the main entrance crowds there.

I am curious if they release additional passes at the 30 day mark. I mean that would seem fair for Disney to hold some for people that don't book at the hotels.
Let me know how it went for you. Was there any passes available at your 30 day mark??

No Disney doesn't hold passes to open at the 30 day mark or the day of. Once FP for a ride are gone for a specific day only way to get it are if people cancel theirs.

Being TT and Soarin are also tier 1 it helps a lot of people get a FP for Frozen. There's been quite a few reports of people getting FP's for Frozen 30 days out

I have a 8:20am breakfast at Askershus and plan to go right over to the ride after breakfast at 9am and hoping I will definitely be the first one on, since I'm solo this trip, figured I'd have a good chance!

8:10 is a full three hours before WS opens. So, even if you eat a moderate breakfast, I imagine you'll be hungry again by then, especially with all the walking. I also think that you will be able to eat and get to FEA by official park opening. Even a 30 min. wait would not be bad. The only unknown is will it be operational or not...

No, Disney has no incentive to be "fair" to people who spend their hotel dollars elsewhere. The head start on booking FP+ is a big selling point for getting people to spend those dollars on-site. They'd be undercutting themselves by leveling the playing field.

We did rope drop the last week of July. They let us in around 8:40 that day and they released us from Mexico by 8:50. We had ridden the ride and were going to see Anna and Elsa by 9:05 at the very latest. Cast member in Anna and Elsa seemed very grateful that the ride hadn't shut down yet and we were being nice to her. She said people were awful to her and other cast members when the ride was down.

Awe sad to hear. Especially because I did book at the resort and I was still unable to achieve a FP 60 days out.
