for a different date? I mean wouldn't it be great if you could get free dine for you whole trip if you check in or OUT within the advertised dates? How will we know if we don't try? It's probably just wishful thinking. I am just trying to hold some hope. Gotta try though right??

Well from how it worked last year.. if you checked in on the last date you got the free dining for the rest of your trip.. that is what I am hoping for.. if not then I will change my dates

Let us know if you have any luck! I would love free dining but our dates are 8/21 to 8/27 , I think our check in date is too early.

I would bet money that this year's free dining works the same way as any other WDW Resort promotion. You get whatever promotion/rate you check in under. So, if you check in ONE DAY before the promotion ENDS you get the promotion for then length of your stay. OTOH, if you check in ONE DAY before the promotion STARTS you will not get the promotion for your stay. You will need to split it up into pre-Free Dining and post-Free Dining. Unfortunately, the rules for DDP eligibility remains the same if you have split up a reservation or if you are switching resorts. You must purchase a minimum park pass for each member in your party.

You will be able to get it at the end of the promotion if you check in on the last day. The only way to get it at the beginning is to book 2 packages. The first would be without free dining and then Aug 26 start another package with the dining.
