Is Anyone Even Going to Hollywood Studios Now?

My daughter plans on HS being the first park she hits as she is obsessed with Kylo Ren, and three of her fave rides are (RnR, ToT, Star Tours). I think at this time HS is very suited to teens, so next month we will likely spend a lot of time at HS.

Nope. I've been skipping it off and on for the past few years. I don't do thrill rides so ToT and RnR were already off of my list. That leaves GMR, TSMM and the Star Wars ride. It's really not worth the effort for me.

Those are 3 of my favorites too and I'm 51.
Our only complaint with DHS is the lack of decent casual dining. We often leave the park and go elsewhere when it's mealtime. The other 3 parks have places we enjoy and even look forward to. DHS has a place or two that we tolerate but avoid if at all possible.

As vegans we find that DHS has the worst food choices, I really hope this improves after the construction is complete.

I think if you focus on what it isn't or what is gone, it can be a bit sad/negative ... but there are still a few rides I think are great, but a lot of character meets (including the Disney Jr characters my kids like), still has some of the streetmosphere which is one of my favorite elements of the park

Fully agree that the quick service options there are really sub-par - but it does have some good/unique sit-down options (sci-fi, 50s, Brown Derby)

Plus the star wars fireworks are great and the new show should be awesome too. We are planning one day at DHS our next trip (but probably only one)

We are not going to HS while we stay for the DIS 10th anniversary weekend extravaganza.

Jes has the right idea, if you're staying multiple days, you go to HS on your arrival night (Star Tours is basically a walk on after 7PM) and ride TSMM, ToT, and RnR with a viewing of Fantasmic if you're not too tired.

I'm sure I'll hit DHS in July when our grandson is visiting. I know he's going to want to hit ToT, RnR and TSMM.

One situation that doesn't work for though (and doesn't impact you or Jes) is if your kid wants to do the Jedi Training accademy as you need to be there basically at rope drop to sign up for that

I go for a half day: Tower of Terror, Frozen Singalong, and lunch at The Hollywood Brown Derby. I also like to visit the shops along the boulevard.

We're going in November for 1/2 day. My nephew is a Star Wars kid so we hope he gets to do the Jedi Trials. HS also still does have 3 of the best rides on WDW property! I'm hoping the Star Wars fireworks are there too...........but we'll see.

We were there in April right after many closures took place on 4/3/16 and the place was still just as packed as I have seen it. It sure did not deter from people visiting, it actually felt more crowded because there is only so much to see now and everyone is in the same place. I use to love going over to streets of America to hang out when really crowded, not an option anymore.

We will be back in August and we will have two days planned there, one in the later afternoon/evening and one on the morning of EMH. I love the Star Wars areas. We find one evening and one morning is enough to see and do what we want.

The shopping on Sunset Blvd is great
For some reason, Keystone Clothiers has always been one of my favorite stores in the parks. It has a nice layout, good variety of clothing, and never seems to be particularly crowded even though it's right on the main drag. We've also always had great CM encounters there.

When I go solo, I usually only spend half a day there if even that. My Family requested a whole day there on our trip in 2 weeks so I planned that out - we shall see how it goes.
My husband said he wants to spend alot of time looking around the Launch Bay but I think it's smaller than he is imagining.

Launch Bay is ridiculous. It's the "exit through the gift shop" of the Chewey and Kylo Ren M&G. It had just opened up before our trip and when I walked in there, EVERYTHING I saw was $300+ (the storm trooper costumes were $3500) and it seemed like movie props and lithographs were for sale as well.

Disney Junior, Toy Story Mania, Beauty and the Beast, The Great Movie Ride, Muppet 3D, Rockin Roller Coaster, Star Tours are all open. We will be there.

We'll probably do a morning to hit some of the rides & maybe go over at night to see fireworks if they're as awesome as they're supposed to be.

I don't see it as an all-day park, but it nevertheless has some great attractions. We have hoppers this coming trip and after a morning at Animal Kingdom, we will hop to Hollywood Studios to do Toy Story Midway Mania, Tower of Terror and Star Tours. We've got ADR's for Minnie's Summertime Dine so we'll get to meet the Fab Five at dinner, then will have reserved seats for Fantasmic. We'll also attend the Frozen show if time allows. A packed afternoon/evening with plenty to do.

We also liked Sci-Fi Diner, Rock'nRoller Coaster, the Great Movie Ride, Muppet Vision and One Man's Dream on our last trip. Hollywood Studios could use more attractions to make it an all-day park, but the ones it currently has are strong and uniquely Disney.

We go for the morning do a few rides, hit a shop or 2 , eat lunch at MM or 50s then head back to our resort. But we get hoppers and no longer do all day at any park. Relaxing by the pool at POFQ or POR is also a big part of our trip.

Is HS worth even one of your precious WDW vacation days?

This depends on how long your vacation is, and on what type of ticket you have. With an annual pass, it's worth it. But to pay to add it on to a multi-day ticket, or if you only have time to visit three parks, then it's questionable whether it's worth it. On my last trip it actually worked out well because the day I went there, I was feeling tired and a bit under the weather, so that fact that there was less to do and less ground to cover, made it easier to have a slower, less strenuous day there without feeling like I was missing anything that would have been important to me.

Looks like there's still lots of love for HS!
If you could wish just one fav old HS attraction back & have it stay forever, which one would it be?
The first one that comes to mind is the tram tour, even though it was too short and it needed more points of interest. I would rather that they would have expanded it to make it more interesting, instead of getting rid of it.

I'm not vegan or even vegetarian, but a couple of years ago I really enjoyed the meatless spaghetti dish at 50s Prime Time. It had no cheese; it was spaghetti, tomato sauce, and some type of vegetable protein instead of meatballs. I haven't seen this dish recently on their adult menu, but it was one of my all time favorite meals at WDW.
