Is Anyone Even Going to Hollywood Studios Now?

The first one that comes to mind is the tram tour, even though it was too short and it needed more points of interest.
Too short? I assume you never rode it in its original form. By the time it had closed, it was a shell of its former self. When it first started, many guests complained that it was too long.

I considered it too short even in its original form, because I would have liked it to have more interesting things to see along the way, to be a longer and more entertaining tour.

This depends on how long your vacation is, and on what type of ticket you have. With an annual pass, it's worth it. But to pay to add it on to a multi-day ticket, or if you only have time to visit three parks, then it's questionable whether it's worth it. On my last trip it actually worked out well because the day I went there, I was feeling tired and a bit under the weather, so that fact that there was less to do and less ground to cover, made it easier to have a slower, less strenuous day there without feeling like I was missing anything that would have been important to me.

I'm not vegan or even vegetarian, but a couple of years ago I really enjoyed the meatless spaghetti dish at 50s Prime Time. It had no cheese; it was spaghetti, tomato sauce, and some type of vegetable protein instead of meatballs. I haven't seen this dish recently on their adult menu, but it was one of my all time favorite meals at WDW.
I went to 50's Prime time last August and unfortunately all they could offer us was some noodles with a bland canned sauce and a side of boiled green beans. They were able to make me a peanut butter shake and it was so delicious that it made up for the terrible food.
Thank you for letting me know though, it was very thoughtful.

We went to 50's Prime Time a few years ago. We were very disappointed. The food was just okay, not bad, just really mediocre, about what one would expect at your average roadside diner. However, it came at 2 or more times the price of that average diner. I mean sure, the decor is cute and kitschy, but none of us felt it was enough to make up for the prices. It isn't a place we would go back to.

We still love it. Rope drop, break and then back at night, it's like a different park. Launch Bay was cool, Jawas, Storm Troopers, Visa M&G with Darth Vader were all awesome. Can't wait for more stuff...

Seconded. If it hadn't been for the atmosphere, it would have been probably the worst meal, value-wise, that I've ever had at WDW. The food was mediocre at best.

I get that some people still love it, and to each their own, but it FELT like a place that's coasting on its atmosphere and reputation, while the food has taken a dive in quality.

I remember it being good when I was there 21 years ago. :lmao::lmao:

I'd be happy just riding Star Tours over and over - so HS is a must for us

That "honor" belongs to the Pepper Market for us. That was simply awful.
Agreed there, Steve. And I've had both wonderful and terrible experiences at Prime Time - both with CM's and the food. One of my worst CM interactions ever (actually had me in tears, and I am NOT a bawler!) was at Prime Time - worked extremely hard setting up ADR's and seating arrangements for a huge group when I was still doing the big get-togethers, and the CM not only gave me an extremely hard time despite my having diligently worked on and communicating the arrangements several times, both by phone, and in person earlier that day, but embarrassed me in front of the group. I was NOT a happy camper that day! :(

One of my worst meals was also at the Pepper Market. Tried the much-lauded ribs. Congealed fat floating in a bowl. No thanks.

Re Prime Time, I'd love to watch the old TV shows & soak up the atmosphere but the shtick just isn't my thing. Especially after an early rope-drop morning and busy day. I'd be tired & a bit grumpy and just not into it. I should prob check out a milkshake at the bar, though. That might be a good half-way point for me.

Is HS worth even one of your precious WDW vacation days?

Someone who goes to HS a lot or knows it in the past I can see where the comments of "there is nothing here" come from. It's a locals or frequent visitor view of Hollywood Studios... For someone new to disneyworld, there is a lot to do and even if the list isn't long, many thing are 30-60 minutes to do so it adds up to a nice day. Personally, you need to look at what is there and decide if you and your traveling party has any interest in those things. Then decide if it's worth the cost and if you want a whole day there...

I personally find a lot more to do at HS than I do at AK. It depends on what your into.

I've never had a bad dining experience at HS, but I don't visit too many places there so don't make that as I like every place. sci-fi, 50s,brownderby and the quick serivces places is all I have gone too. One of my favorite quick service places is still there (and opened).

I would never miss Hollywood Studios. Rope drop to Toy Story Mania then race to Tower of Terror or Rock and roller coaster. After that it's time for the great movie ride, star tours, and finally Muppet Vision 3D. Finally dinner at the sci fi Cafe or the Brown Derby. Look up after all that and you should see sunset. Full day completed.

That's why it would be so cool to live/work in Orlando. You could just do Hollywood Studios on your lunch hour.
Hmmm. Maybe if I left now I could be back in time for the Podcast.
