Is anyone else worried about January?

No worries here. We were there the last week of January last year and it was not crowded at all. Last week just goofing around I couldn't find much for January 15 and 16 but plenty after that for the rest of our week. We are going a week earlier because of those darn annual passes. We are AKL (annual pass rate) for MLK weekend and figure if it is busy we will just kick back at our resort. With the extended evening hours at times we figure we will be okay. I just worry a bit about the weather flying out of DTW. We get ice storms in January at times.

We're leaving on the 19th, driving from Virginia. I just worry about getting out of town. PLEASE don't let it snow until the 20th. LOL

I agree that weather is more of a concern on this end than in Orlando. We had snow the week of Christmas but it just melted - no ice. In 2004 we had snow over Valentine's Day. I don't think we have had ice since 2003, but you never know! Late January can be icy around here.

Today we have had torrential rains, but it is 20 degrees warmer than normal! Highs have been in the low 70's. We finally had to turn the A/C back on because it was so muggy. Maybe the extended forecast I should be looking at is the LOCAL one! LOL

It will be interesting to see if some rooms open up once CRO gets back online. But with all the groups just before and during MLK weekend I guess it's possible that they are all full.

I just made reservations through AAA on 12/30 for Sports 1/29 to 1/31. It was $55 a night. We tried for MLK weekend but it was booked up.
I think that it is going to be just fine. We picked this time of year because it is our son's first time and we wanted his experience to be the best possible.
