Is anyone else surprising kids for Christmas?

Love surprising my kids like day of/upon arrival, and we will be doing that for our cruise next summer. I can't wait to plan something over Christmas break some year so I can surprise them like so many of you have! So fun!!!

We will be surprising our girls, 8 and 10 - I have made matching family Mickey / Minnie shirts from a design I found on Pinterest. The adults will be wearing theirs under regular shirts. The kids will open a present containing their shirts, will look at us in confusion and the adults will reveal their matching shirts. Surprise! I will also be giving as gifts light up LED Mickey hats, Lanyards and Disney trading pins.

We are! All of their gifts this year are Disney themed. The cruise is the big one, so after they do stockings and a few small things, they are going to open up their "tickets". All we will tell them is that they are going on the cruise and when, but the pre and post DW stays will be total surprises!!! I can't wait!

We are!!! We fly into orlando on the 16th December and are staying at Vero Beach for a couple of days before joining the Disney Magic on the 18th December. My big kids (23yrs and 19yrs) know we are going to WDW after a trip down to Key West but have no idea about the cruise. we booked last December and have been keeping it a secret as this will probably be the last family trip for a while as they will probably want to go away with friends. We are going to tell them When we arrive in Vero by setting a few clues.........my husband and I are so excited and it has been the hardest secret to keep!! Although I am a little worried that they will spot the documents when they come in the post, thinking off giving Disney a call to see if they will deliver to a friends address!!!!!

We surprised DD last year with a WDW trip for her birthday. This year I'm doing it a little different...DD7 and I are planning our WDW and DCL vacation (back-to-back) as a surprise for DH! He has no idea and she is having more fun keeping it from him and helping me plan than I ever could have imagined!!!

We're surprising our kids (19,17,16,11). The 19 yr old knows, but not all details. We're packing them up secretly, sending them off to school on the bus, then picking them up at school pretending they are "in trouble". They'll know we're going somewhere when we park at the park and fly. Won't be telling them where until we have to the day of. They'll know Florida by the 2nd airport, but not what. We are going from West to East, so spending the night before our cruise at airport hotel. The next morning will be (if all goes as planned) "put this shirt on over your swimsuit." The shirt says, this kid is going on the Disney Dream Bahamas. Each day will be a surprise, then we're spending a week at DW after our cruise. Again, a T-shirt (homemade) will announce the surprise! I'm really hoping to pull it off. I've even bought "spy glasses" to record the "you're in trouble" pick up. I've been wearing them around so they think I've got new "reading glasses". SO MUCH FUN wondering if I'll get caught out just blurt it out before hand.

Awesome!! You guys will definitely get the Star Wars premier as you LEAVE on the 18th. We disembark on the 18th...

I am surprising my boys the week of Thanksgiving 2016 when dh is hunting. I don't have a complete plan yet so following for ideas. I want to keep it a secret up until the airport or even the hotel. We will likely fly in the day before so I need to figure out a cover story for the trip. Then work the Mickey call in somehow.

Our first cruise we surprised our kids with at Christmas. I got a large box from work, went to Party City and had them fill up a few of the Disney mylar balloons, the ones that hold the helium for days. Put some cruise stuff in the bottom of the box and filled the rest with the balloons. Kids opened the box, and Mickey and Tinkerbell floated out then when they dug into the stuff at the bottom, they figured out it was a Disney cruise. One thing my wife did was put together a calendar from Christmas until when our ship was leaving. Put a chocolate coin on each day, like an advent calendar only it was the countdown calendar until the cruise.

We are surprising our kiddies (will be 7 year old DS and 2 year old DS/DD twins) on Christmas day. We are flying to Florida on the 26th, doing two nights at DW, going on the Dream on the 28th, followed by four nights at DW. I am beyond excited!!! I have already arranged the Mickey phone call for mid-morning on Christmas day, but I am still trying to find a way to let them know when we are opening our gifts. The twins will be too young to understand, but I think our oldests excitement will bubble over to them!

We are giving it to our kids for Christmas as well. The nice thing is we sail out of Galveston on Jan 4 so they (and me) only have to wait 9 days.

I'm surprising my daughter, 10 on Christmas morning with a New Years eve cruise. I haven't figured out yet a cool way to do it. I thought about a "cruise" box with balloons and all kinds of goodies for the trip. We are going as a girls only trip with our super good friends and leaving Daddy at home :( but I'm still working on it
