Is anyone else SO sad Small World isn't around?

It won't be back until Spring 2005 due to renovations. While I am glad they are updating it - it seems SO long! This was my FAVORITE ride when I went at 2.5yrs old and I am takinf my soon to be 3 yr old and she'll miss it

oh well - guess I won't have to wait in the line!!!

YES!!! And I'm kinda mad about it ... taking grandson (10) to Disney this summer ... it's been 5 years since his last trip (w/other grandma) and one of the things he loved was IASW ... and now he won't be able to ride it .... grrrrr

While I am disappointed that it will be down on our next two trips, it really needs the refurb. It was getting dirty in places. I'm sure it'll be very nice when it reopens.

Yeah, we'll miss it on our upcoming trip, but look forward to seeing the new and improved IASM when we return!

We're actually delaying our next trip because it's closed. IASW is DD's favorite ride. On our last trip she rode it 6 times in 2 days. I can't imagine trying to go when it's closed. Whenever I even bring up Disney she asks about going on the boat ride again. I think I read it will be open again in early March.

Yes! We are disappointed.

It is my 3 year old's favorite ride and we were looking forward to riding it again in Sept. Not only that, but it is such a fast boarding ride that it was a great place to go for a quick diversion.

Oh well, as some previous posters' noted, I noticed it was getting very dirty back in Feb.

I can't believe it will be closed that long! My daughter was disappointed when we were there in May that it was closed. We're going back in December and she's really looking forward to riding it again. I guess I'll after prepare her that it will be closed again. She loves that ride.

We are very, very sad that IASW will be closed during our trip! Our two little ones enjoy is so much, and it's such a nice peaceful break from the heat and crowds outside.

On the other hand, I'm glad it's being refurbished. It really did need it, and it's nice to see that Disney is putting sufficient (presumably) time and money into this classic ride to get it back to tiptop condition.

I was so disappointed that dd didn't get to ride it on her first trip to WDW last month. It closed just a couple of days before we arrived.

Yeah we are bummed about it too. My two DDs (7 and 4) have been watching the videos of our last trip, which was before they were born, and that is one of their favorite parts. Oh well, I guess you should always leave something new for the next trip.

DD1 was very sad that her favorite ride was not working. As a compromise we ended up doing the Mexico ride in Epcot about 10 times. Part of the ride has dolls that are very similar to IASM and the fireworks at the end were a big hit.

I'm sad too! My youngest-baby #3-DD(16 months) has always been such an easy baby but a few months ago she started getting cranky. I think the walking thing was a big deal to her and she's teething like mad. Well I didn't really have any way to console her because she never needed it. I discovered in the car that she LOVES the small world song so now I use that to console her and it really works. (My DH HATES it!) I was looking forward to taking her on the ride to see how she reacts. Maybe she likes the song because she enjoyed the ride when we were there in Jan. Well we're going in Oct so I guess we'll be going to Mexico and we'll be back next Oct and small world should be all sparkly again.

There is always an attraction or two closed for rehab. when we go. It's very disappointing, but fortunately we go often enough that we can deal with it. My younger dd was very sad last time when Big Thunder Mtn. RR was down for rehab. She doesn't like the big rides usually, but had decided that she would give that ride a try in 2003. Well, now it's first on our list for 2004 since she missed it last fall.

I'm pretty sure Spaceship Earth was in rehab. during my 1994 trip. That was also a bummer.

I am glad they're fixing up Small World. It really needed it. I can't wait to see the new and improved version. Let's just hope it's not a repeat of the "Imagination" fiasco.

Ohhhhh---I'm so sad---we are going there in November and I was looking so forward to seeing my twin daugthers eyes light up - BOO HOO!!!! AWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

It is a downer when they have ride(s) down for reconstruction.

I'm glad I found this out ahead of time as I'll have time to get over it - LOL!!!!

I'm kind of glad. We're going with my parents this week and my mom STILL begs me to go on this ride. It has never done much for me, even when I was a kid, and I'm relieved that I can get out of it now.

DW tells me I'm a cranky old man.

This was DD's favorite ride during her first trip back in 2000. DS isn't going to be able to experience it on his first trip to the World in a few months. We're a little bummed about it, but we're using it as a great excuse to head back after it reopens next spring. Love those AP's!

My 6yo DS is disappointed that IASW will be closed on our upcoming trip. He is very sensitive about rides and this is one of the few that he will actually ride

Even though I won't be able to go on IASW during my upcoming trip.

I will be able to here the song over and over again at work (Hallmark).... because we are going to be having a new ornament based on the ride which plays the song!!!

I was like WHAT!!!!! from your title. So glad its not for good and will be open for our May 2006 trip. I loved it as kid(10 at my first trip) and want my dd to see it even though the song gets on my nerves now. LOL
