Is anyone else not that thrilled with Chef Mickey's???

I am glad to know we are not the only ones bothered by the birds. It just did not feel clean. We went in 2005 and have not been back. We are huge animal lovers-but just something about birds flying all over where I am eating and food is kept. DH was more bothered by it than me and he normally is not bothered by anything.

The character interactions was good, but we get good interaction at other character meals without the birds.

Well after this talk about Chef M's I have had a change of heart, if I wanted to see the birds I would watch Hitchcock:rotfl2: so I think we will see the birds at the Animal Kingdom and eat at the Tusker House,;)
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

i love chef mickeys!! ive never found it dirty, and i dont know what you mean by birds flying around.
the food is just your basic buffet cuisine. i suppose if you were looking for something fancier it wouldnt be the place. but then again i dont find the food at any of the disney restaurants all that special:confused3 .
we go there because its a great time and we get to eat.

I totally agree with you :cool1:

I used to love Chef Mickey's it was a must for every trip, but on our last trip in October I had the worst experience. I took my mom's side of the family for their first meal at Disney and they were treated horribly. My sister had little brown pieces of stuff in her Orange soda and not just a few a whole bunch of pieces. When we pointed it out to the server she just took it away and brought another, no apologies or anything. It was very disturbing, then to get refills on our drinks was like pulling legs. The food wasn't anything great, in fact the only thing that really tasted good was the prime rib and then I heard the carver complaining about my son!:sad2: Of course I let him know that I heard him and that he was complaining about my child, he laughed and gave a half-hearted apology. The buffet was a mess and was not re-stocked in a timely manner. The character interaction was fantastic though.:)

We did not enjoy Chef Mickey's for breakfast - AT ALL. :scared:

I did it once - nothing spectacular, but there are few character breakfasts I like (since they are nearly $20 for what is mostly eggs/bacon, etc.). The one I would go to occasionally is 1900 Park Fare, I think it's a cut above other breakfasts. When we stayed in Cinderellas Castle, we received a Crystal Palace breakfast in the morning - that was pretty good also.

For nearly $30.00, I expect a buffet to have better-than-average food. Chef Mickeys used to be really, really good. The last time I was there, it wasn't. The characters were fine, and came around often.

We went to Chef Mickeys for the 1st time last year. It was clean enough food was good enough. I was mostly ticked about the HOUR long wait AFTER our reservation to get to the darn food. My Daughter was 3 at the time and her patience was thin!( which makes my patience disappear :) )
I complained and was told cant you see we are busy.. Yep that was the response. So I asked for a manager who offered us drinks- we dont drink- he just shrugged. Aside from that it was a blast, characters rocked the house and our waiter was great!

Oh yeah we were also 20 minutes early, so it was an hour and 20 minutes but the earliness was my fault :)
