I was just wondering if anyone else planned on doing this. We are going to Disney 13 days after Easter so I thought this would be a good idea, instead of all the candy. I have DD7 and DS1 amd need a few more ideas. I already have the following:

the Mickey Gram...(the stuffed Mickey that delivers a message gram) and the Minnie Gram and I am going to include $30.00 in Disney Dollars in each
Handheld fans from the Disney Store
Mickey and Minnie coloring book from the Dollar Tree
A hat for each of them from the Disney Store
I ordered each of the personalized towels and 2 personalized t-shirts and a pair of pajamas each from the Disney Store

I need a couple of small ideas for their baskets.

Thanks for any help!!

I was out at Walmart a few days ago and I saw Disney paddles (the ones with the ball attached with a rubberband, sorry I cant think of what they call them) as well as disney themed bubble sets, card sets, pencils and crayons etc. I dont remember the exact cost but I remember thinking they were pretty inexpensive. I dont remember what characters they had on them but I know they had several princess ones.
Hope this helps

We are going in May :cool1: so I've included in their Easter Baskets:
1 copy each of Disney World for Kids
Lanyard
Couple of pins each (personalized to them, like Mickey playing football for my DS and Robin Hood for DD)
Sunglasses
autograph books
Disney dollars
sun visors
a book for the plane ride, quiet time etc.
some candy
t-shirts
Probably get daughter an I-tunes gift card, and the boy a game boy game

We go in May every year & I always do Disney themed Easter baskets for our trip.

Today at Target I got some light-up spinning toys...the kind they sell at Disney. They are in the Easter section for $3.99.

I also have:

Easter bunny Mr. Potato Head
disposable water cameras

and some other things that I can't mention because DD11 sometimes looks at these thread titles (she usually hangs out on the Teen Board).

Last year we went to WDW in May, & we did Disney-themed Easter baskets as well (& will probably do so again this year since we're going to WDW in June). I included the following:

Nemo swimsuits w/ Nemo sun/beach hats & Nemo pool shoes
Nemo beach towels
Tinkerbell sunglasses for DD, Tigger sunglasses for DS
PJ Pals (Tinkerbell for DD, Goofy for DS)
Bambi Little Golden book for DD, Dumbo Little Golden book for DS
Disney Princess Fruit Snacks for DD, Toy Story Fruit Snacks for DS
Peeps (can't have an Easter basket w/o Peeps!)

If they didn't have Easter baskets that they re-use every year, I probably would have put the above in two Disney beach bags.

I found Disney filled candy eggs at Special thoughts (its like a dollar store and Hallmark outlet),Disney pens and pencils,Disney stickers, flashlights at the register in Shaws Supermarket,Disney socks, fruit snacks, stuffed disney toys at Christmas tree shops and pez at Target.

I love the Disney light-up pens at Walmart! They are a great deal for $1!! Look for them in the check-out lane.

Totally off-topic, what on earth is a Christmas Tree Shop? I've seen that mentioned in a couple threads now -- it sounds like a place I'd like to go!!!! Please fill me in! Thanks!!!!

The Christmas Tree Shop is only the best store in the history of stores. I'm not sure about this, but I think they are only in the NorthEast.

Think quality decorations and furnishings (Lillian Vernon, Pier One etc) at Walmart prices. The place is a madhouse. Everyday it is crazy. But the prices are sooo good. And again, it's not crappy stuff, it's nice.

They have everything. Furniture, picture frames, pillows, suitcases, holiday and everyday decorations, gift wrap...anything!

You have to go with a lot of patience though. It's so worth it. I'm there almost every month

We live about 5 mins from a Christmas Tree Shops and the stuff is so reasonable it is hard for me to ever leave empty handed! Thier tag line is Dont you just love a bargain? is so true.

Thanks for filling me in on "Christmas Tree Shops"! Any idea why they call it that? It sounds sort of like a store we have in Michigan called "Tuesday Morning". I used to go there quite often -- but now they've left our town. The closest is about a half-hour away. So, I don't get there much at all anymore. I wish it was still in Holland!

I will certainly use these for DS but I also have a question for DW. We just found out that we are expecting our second child and will be in WDW over Mother's day. Any suggestions for an Easter Basket for DW? Also since we will be there over Mother's Day, and suggestions for a surprise gift basket? I looked at the Disney florist and also Peggy's sweets but am looking for something more geared towards an expecting (and current) mother. Flowers are not really an option because I would like it to be more of a souvenier...maybe some treats as well.

Thanks.

Thanks! I went to my Target today and bought 3 different light up spinning toys for her Easter "gift bag" (I can't fit a basket in our suitcases!), as well as candy of course. :thumbsup2

Dollar Tree (at least in Ohio) also has some cute sidewalk chalk holders, and little frisbees in Pooh and Princesses and 4 pack (like the 8 kind) crayons of Princesses.

Don't forget that Chicken Little is also coming out this month. There is a bunch of CL merchandise already and Chickens go well with Easter. :)

I'm not SURE why they call it the Christmas Tree Shop. I suspect it could have started out as a holiday specialty store. That's when you can get the BEST bargains.

They just put in a Tuesday morning next to Big Lots.I didnt like it.It was messy and there was a lot of broken junk and high prices.Christmas tree has stuff originally in Lilliam Vernon,Lakeside,Specialty shops,Cape Cod Crafters,Lindt,Precious moments and other close outs for really low prices. For example easter baskets started at 39 cents and came with a little bag of candy.I got gardening tools at 3 for a dollar and a garden kneeler for 59 cents.Bag of tulip bulbs 2.99. They had spring placemats at 50 cents-2.99 each.Luggage was under 20.00 a piece.Really cute kids baking sets were 2.99 and they included oven mits, aprons and dish towels.I got one each for my neices along w/Easter bunny cookie cutters and sprinkles and a cookie sheet for 1.00 each. The prices on markdowns after the holidays are unbelievable.About the name I am not sure but they do have a website that might tell you.
I bought too many things for the kids baskets. Now I am giving them one here and one in Disney.
