It's 77 degrees here today! :sunny:

I love indian summer!

The term "Indian Summer" dates back to the 18th century in the United States. It can be defined as "any spell of warm, quiet, hazy weather that may occur in October or even early November."

The term "Indian Summer" is generally associated with a period of considerably above normal temperatures, accompanied by dry and hazy conditions ushered in on a south or southwesterly breeze.

Several references make note of the fact that a true Indian Summer can not occur until there has been a killing frost or freeze. Since frost and freezing temperatures generally work their way south through the fall, this would give credence to the possibility of several Indian Summers occurring in a fall, especially across the northern areas where frost or freezes usually come early.

I am! Its 67 degrees and beautiful. This is so much better than the 6 inches of snow we had last Tuesday; if it would only last. Fall is my favorite time of the year. :sunny:

Oh how I wish we were basking in warm weather...instead we are at a balmy 57 local time which is 1:30 pm and it's just going to get colder and colder as the night goes on which I hate with trick or treating!

Someone send some warmth this way!

I love it! I actually got take a walk on my lunch hour. Won't be many more of those days :cold:

I'd love it if I was outside, but as it is I am ROASTING in the office. The heat is on, and it's about 80 inside. This while I'm in warm clothes. Can't wait for the end of the day!

Just had a cold front pass through...thunder-boomers and wind. About 70 degrees tops, but looks and feels more like October.

No to boast but it's 86 degrees right now in Simi Valley, CA!

We had to put the central AC back on because it was getting hot upstairs!

It's cooled off considerably since this afternoon, it's 66 degrees now at 9:18pm.

All right I'll be the one to break the mold. I think it hit about 70 today. It felt way too hot, considering just two nights ago I was outside in thirty degree air for 45 minutes waiting to get into a hockey game (well worth the cold wait btw). I personally am not a fan of out of season weather. There's something wrong with it being 70, and getting dark at 4:30... Just seems totally off. It does not feel at all like Halloween, and I can't wait to get back to normal fall weather.
