Is anyone cruising with me on the August 27th 2011 Meditteranean Cruise? Hellooooo?

I really didn't want to have to pay for a taxi. So it sounds like we can walk that if we just give our selves a little time. Yes, lets meet up somewhere? Maybe there is a spot we can meet along the way? The website says no reservations necessary. I would want to get there early enough though to get bikes and get to the meeting place in plenty of time.

Well we can definitely plan to meet earlier , because we are on the same flight if one of us is delayed we are all delayed. I sure hope we can check in early at AC Diplomatic. I'm going to post a thread to see how many have gotten in before 3p. We will be in Barcelona so early on that Friday!

According to our hotel website check in is 2pm so I am hoping that when I arrive at the hotel @ 9:30 am they give me a room early otherwise I will be sleeping in the lobby with my suitcases

Me too. We have 22 hours of flight time and a change at Singapore and then Milan so if we can't check in early I just might cry.

Okay, we will scrap the lanyards--sigh I DO really love them, but I think it is just not going to work out this time.
As far as putting something else on the DCL lanyards--only repeat cruisers get DCL lanyards. I could look into buttons or something --but generally if we set up a narea to meet in and a time then it is pretty easy to find each other and then after a few minutes it becomes obvious that we are the big group of people

Now that we have to have two of us fly to port, we are going to drive it straight through on Friday so as to not separate the group as long. The fliers get in to BCN at 6:30 pm and the drivers will likely not arrive until 8:00ish. So, I am not sure if we can join in for Dominoes or not (which really makes me sad as I looooove meeting people the night before).

I wish you all great luck in checking in early--but DO NOT count on it! It will be a Saturday in August in a major tourist city in Europe (one Europeans love to visit too). Your odds of a really early check in are probably not that great. Sorry Personally, we find we adjust better if we do not nap during the day we arrive and just power through until at least 8:00. Swimming helps keep you awake.

Been reading through this entire post and getting very excited about our trip. My family would like to participate in the Fish Extenders. There is myself, DH, DS (13), and DD (11). Currently we don't have a room, still waiting to be assigned. Thanks to everyone for all the great ideas and comments that I have already seen.

Not Counting on it, but praying and secretly hoping they see our status level with the hotel and decide to be nice. At the point we arrive we will be travelling almost 20 hours so unless I get a really good nights sleep on the plane I don't think I will make it all day until 8pm. I know time zones are a mess, because we live in California but our family is in Pennsylvania and that 3 hours really messes with ya. So the fact we lose about 9 hours we are going to be all thrown off.

Last time we flew to Europe we got so lucky the plane was only a third full so everyone had their own row! I am hoping this happens again but I highly doubt it especially since other people from the boards here are on our flight.

I am looking forward to this trip and it seems surreal that we get to go and all the amazing things we are going to see.

Our fish Extenders are done unless we get more than 35 people. then we gotta make some more

Diane, the magnets stay on the cabin doors just fine. Just purchase regular magnets from a discount store. They have an adhesive already on them, just place on the back of your sign. We are re-using the ones we made from our Wonder cruise in 2009.

I sure hope we can make this Fat Tire Bike tour on that Friday! I am making plans to sleep by the pool while waiting to get into our room. I'll bring a change of clothes just in case! My only other agenda is to buy some wine/liquer on that evening to take on board the ship the next day.

The doors ARE metal so they stick just fine

We are from Rochester, NY. This will be my first time to Europe. Cruised on the Wonder in the Carribbean a couple of years ago when the kids were small.

My best friend lives in Rochester!!!! It is a great town. I was there visiting for New Years (most recently).

There is a liquor store in the port (after security) whose prices were decent if you do not want to haul it as far (says the girl hauling her favourite wines all the way from Germany).
