Is anyone cruising with me on the August 27th 2011 Meditteranean Cruise? Hellooooo?

Your comments seem to be echoed by many. I am having a hard time figuring out what type of cruise to book while on board the Magic so that I can get the discounts. No more 3 day cruises. Only the Dream is doing 4 days. I have no interest in Nassau (been there, did that). So it looks like a 7 night Eastern/Western is the only alternative. Again, only the Dream doing this, or the Fantasy. Which I fear will have the same issues. Now there is rumor the Magic may sail out of NYC. I would enjoy this IF it goes to Bermuda.

Do you realize taht you can change the date that you precook for to anything else? Even on a different ship. You cannot get MORE of a discount/OBC and they will make it LESS OBC if you drop from say a 7 night to a 4 night (they would then make it what it would have been had you rebooked a 4 night while on board--whereas if you rebook a 4 night and then change to a 7 night you only get as much OBC as the 4 night deal). We generally just pick a 7 night far out and then change the dates around later as needed.

Thanks for finding out for everyone. I'm quite happy with this, makes sense to have formal night near the begining so that everyone can still fit in their posh frocks and suits, anywhere past the middle of the cruise and mine probably won't zip up

I know a few have mentioned disappointment at not being able to see the David in Florence, but there is an expensive option, looks like if you take the ABD add on you will get in the museum. I wonder if there other tours that would get you in.

Honestly, many people adore Palo. We think it is nice but not a ton better than just the regular dining room. We dine there on about half of our cruises. As of now we are not planning on booking it for this one. I honestly do not think you will feel let down or as if you did not eat well if you skip it.

We are not sure about Palo. With it being our first cruise we are not sure as we do not want to miss any of the other meals

Maybe do a brunch, though to be honest there will probably be no reservations left time we get to it

Sitting here looking at all the snow and wishing it was summer.

Last week on the Dream I came home with stiff feet from all the walking we did. I am going to start a walking program , as this trip will include lots of walking, anyone else doing that? Hope to get in 1 hour of walking a day.

For those of you that booked flights early make sure to check them from time to time.

I checked mine and the return flight has changed to a Monday BCN to Montreal but the Montreal to Toronto is till on Sunday. It would be great to come back on Monday as it is a holiday but I need to work, so I guess I will have to call tomorrow to get fixed.

I am in a walking program sort of at work. Usually about 3 days a week I walk a mile and 1/2 at lunch. I have just gotten back on the treadmill for 25 minutes x 3 days a week. I need to get some comfortable walking shoes for this trip!!

Looks like Palo is going to be out. I just don't think we can fit it in. I'm sure on our only sea day nothing will be open for me as a silver status CC member.

For anyone planning to visit Rome, its worth checking out the Scavi Tour which is a small pre-booked tour of the Necropolis under St Peter's, which culminates in what is believed to be the tomb of St Peter. I did it the last time I was in Rome. They only allow a few people a day down there as its all temperature/humidity controlled etc., but a once in a lifetime event if you can make it.

I had thought about this tour, but there are only 2 times that they offer it during the day. It seemed VERY interesting, but I don't know how the schedule will go that day. Already loads to see in Rome.

I am doing alot of walking lately too. I do like Hope, atleast 3 days a week, on my lunch hour, for maybe 40 minutes. I am trying to look for some good walking sandals that are easy on the eye but are also comfortable and then I will use these to walk at lunch, but i'm not having much luck finding anything.

Okay, sorry I was away so long but it was a wonderful spring break in Florida! Unfortunately while everyone else brings home nice souveniers, I brought home pneumonia! I'm back on my feet and ready to go!

diane aggelidou- about the FE, most people put one gift in for the whole cruise, although some people put in more. You do not have to bring a gift for each day though.

I have a spreadsheet for the FE's and I would like to update the cabin numbers. Right now I only have ours. If you would like to pm me with your cabin number if you don't want to post it as well as the names of who is in your party, I can keep the list updated and not be scrambling in the few days before we leave. (BTW the names are in case anyone does anything personalized, not me, but just in case )
