Is anybody else's skin taking a beating this winter?

With having the heat turned up so high in the house and the cold dry air outside the house, my skin is parched!

I need to put my Clinique's Dramatically Different face moisturizer on at least 3 times a day!

Bath & Body Works cream (thicker than the lotion) keeps the rest of my body in check, but I'm telling ya! It's a full time job just trying to keep my skin soft and smooth!

How's your skin holding up?

I used to have a lot of problems with dry skin in the winter to the point that I'd had to use prescription cream. A few years ago though we had a humidifier installed onto the furnace that keeps the humidity around 45%. It's helped tremendously. The only problem I still have is with my hands but I just try to remember to put lotion on a lot and use rubber glove when I can.

YES!!!!

I have a huge mass of dry skin that is red, puffy, and itchy on the back of my leg. It drives me nuts at night.

Yup! I'm used to the Florida humid weather and right now my normally oily skin is dry and almost flaky. It looks horrid when I put make up *after* putting on lotion twice.

Oh, and my lips! I have to put gobbs of vaseline on them at night before I go to sleep so I don't wake up with what looks like wax lips!

I found this GREAT hand cream by Bronnley in the UK pavilion at Epcot in December. It feels and smells wonderful, and really keeps my hands feeling moisturized. I'm loving the Apricot and Almond scent.

I also found it online here.

This is one of those things I'm going to stock up on every time I go to WDW now... I think it would be especially terrific for my cold-climate friends.

YES! My shampoo can't keep up with my psoriasis any more. I have a derm appt in 2 weeks. My hands are dry and cracked 15 minutes after using lotion. I just can't keep up. I hardly worry about the rest of my body; it is futile. I've always had dry skin. I need to start taking some supplements, but will wait to see what the Dr recommends.

AND I'M IN FLORIDA!!!!

d-o-a-c -- that sounds an awful lot like psoriasis. you might should look into that

Another psoriasis sufferer here. When I lived in NJ, the winters were horrible! My skin would crack and bleed. :( Not a problem since living in humid FL. I guess I'll be going back to that when I get to Virginia! :( This isn't for psoriasis, but the best thing I've found for dry skin is Ahava! :) Oooooooooooooooooo...they're having a sale!! I'm going to have to do some online shopping. :) I've been known to soak in the dead sea salts. :)

My skin loves the humidity in Florida, but my hair does not! It gets terribly frizzy. It might be do to the water down there, or just the humidity. Either way, I'd be cutting my hair much shorter if I lived there!

I was having problems with dry skin (oddly, though, not on my face) until I started using Burt's Bees Coconut Creme for feet all over my body twice a week, and Kiss My Face A&E lotion on the days I don't use the Burt's. My skin is surprisingly soft now! Oh yes, I also loofah a couple times a week.

I am writing all of these down. I'm just so sensitive that I'm singing praises when I can find something that doesn't burn my skin.

My skin is doing great, I hate dry skin so I take care of it.
