My daughter has a Dell laptop and wants a wireless mouse. Is there any brand or model that is better than the other that I should get? What are the things I should be looking for? Also, need the same info for a cooling pad for it. Thanks in advance for any info!

I have the Logitech wireless mouse, and I love it!

When I wanted a wireless mouse, someone here suggested the optic Logitech and I love it!! Left click, right click - with the scroll wheel in the middle.. I absolutely DETEST having to use my finger pad - it slows me down so much.. Love my mouse - batteries last a long, long time.. I've dropped it millions of times and it still works fine.. :) I threw away the box though so I can't tell you the model number - sorry..

Don't know much about cooling pads - don't like the one I purchased - so I'll let someone else speak to that..
:santa:

I have a Logitech too. Works well, comfortable in the hand. Not terribly outrageous in price.

I went online and the models I see that have top ratings are the V450 & V220. I am sure there are probably more.

I have the Logitech V450 and LOVE it. I especially like the tiny little usb plug - the "nano" part of it. I had a previous logitech mouse that had a normal sized one and it was wicked annoying. This one doesn't interfere with the portability or maneuverability of my laptop. Battery life is really exceptional compared to the previous wireless mice I've had. I don't always use the mouse, use the touchpad more out of convenience when it's on my lap haha... but it's already been a year since I got it and I haven't replaced the batteries.

Anyway, I'd highly recommend the V450 nano - with the TINY usb plug.

That's the exact one I've got, though I think I got it at Office Depot (or Office Max, I can't tell the difference in the stores haha)

I have had the Microsoft one, the usb part broke after 3 weeks. I called the 8oo number and they send a new one with no questions. I found it to be bit noisy when using the scroll button.

Logitech :thumbsup2

Cooling pads, a plug in the wall one is way better, you have constant supply of power and less draining on the computer then the usb one.

I just got a Microsoft one and I hate it. It has issues. I'm going to see if I can get another logitech one. I had one but is flat out died conveniently just before my last trip (which is odd because I've only had it since March of 2008) so I had to go with what Walmart had.

I'm on my second Logitech V220 and I love it! It is designed perfectly to fit my hand. If you can, go with the shorter nano stick. I killed my first one by knocking the nano stick hard. DS wanted me to get the shorter one, but it was twice the price of the longer stick ($40 vs. $20). I got the longer one and promised myself I'd be more careful!

Get one that doesn't need two AA batteries. Wow, are those mice HEAVY to push around.

but what is the difference in the "nano" vs the one that is not nano? Bottom line, what is Nano?
