Is an hour enough time for Brown Derby?

We (party of 8) are doing a half day at HS with dinner at Brown Derby at 5:30. Is it safe to assume we'll be out around 6:30?

Not with that many people. It's highly unlikely. Especially if you order drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts or any combination. You may not even be seated by 5:30. To be safe I would give it 1.5 to 2 hours.

Highly unlikely. Always plan on a minimum of 90 minutes. With 8 people it could be closer to 2 hours.

Counting on being seated immediately for any ADR is risky at best.

We recently took a trip with a a party of 8 (two families). At two of our three planned TS meals together the other family took off and left me at the table (I say me because once they took my children too and I found myself sitting alone at the table, after that I told my children they don't leave until I leave so they remained the second time). One time they had to run to a FP and the other I don't know I guess someone had to use the restroom and it was outside the building and they didn't realize I hadn't paid yet??? Anyway, I share that to say for me (again, for me) rushing through the meal kind of ruined the meal. I was not on the dining plan and each of the sit down meals cost me about $150 for the 3 of us. I did not mind that, had totally planned for it, but gosh if I am going to pay $150 for lunch I sure want to sit and enjoy/finish my meal. I would prefer to overestimate rather than under and always allowed for 90 minutes-2 hours.

Highly unlikely you'll be finished in an hour (unless you were to order just drinks or appetizers).

We've always had early dinner ADRs here (typically around 5:30ish) and have always had to wait 15-30 minutes just to be seated (keep in mind that the restaurant is running the entire time between lunch and dinner and may be behind schedule).

Once we've been seated, the meal has typically taken around 90 minutes (with dessert - without dessert it would probably be closer to 60-70 minutes).

Like PPs have said, I think you need to plan on 1.5 to 2 hours. Especially with a large party.

We were a party of 11. We were seated 15-20 minutes after our ADR time and it took over an hour to eat. Probably 1.5 hours. Food and atmosphere were great, though.

Agree with the rest, 1 hour isn't enough time.

Since I'd hate to feel rushed at a meal that's more expensive I'd give it 2 hours just to be safe. Then you can relax and enjoy, rather than scarfing down the food.
