Does anyone know if we Have to do the airline checkin if we are using ME? TIA

No, it's not a requirement. Luggage can be transported to the airport in the lower compartment of the Magical Express coach and checked at the airport (curbside or in the main line area).

Not all airlines participate in the Resort Airline Check-in program.

No, in fact you don't even have to be flying to use DME.

If you are flying and don't want to use RAC just bring your bags with you and the driver will load them under the bus.

Thanks. The reason I ask is that the last time we stayed at Coronado Springs,I didn't want to participate and somehow the front desk printed my boarding pass, but since my kids were on a different flight, not theirs. It was a mess I would like to avoid this time.

Well, that may be something completely different than RAC. I'm almost 100% sure that unless you actually go to the RAC desk yourself you will have no involvement with RAC.

Now, DME (not RAC, which is a completely separate service) will sometimes (under circumstances that are not altogether clear), do a check-in for guests and print their boarding passes. These are then left with the DME information on your door the day before checkout.

Since it doesn't sound like you went to the RAC desk, I'm guessing that the latter is more than likely what happened with you. Not sure how it created a mess, but I'm also not sure there's anyway to opt out of the "service" It just seems to happen sometimes and not other times. Generally I think if you have a morning flight home it's more likely, but that's about the only thing I have been able to come up with.
