Is a trip to Universal worth it?

In my honeymoon stay in October I was looking into going to Universal for a day. Is it worth the day out of the Disney parks. Does it get crowded in October? How much is it for a cab there? Any info would be great. Thanks!

Universal is way better than WDW, in my opinion. It is not crowded in October and a cab costs about $30 each way.

It's certainly worth it but people here are a little biased. We always spend several days there.

You can also contact Mears about transportation.

My family will be coming to Orlando in December. Myself, husband, DD-21, DS-20, DS-19. We have a couple of days left on our Disney passes and will be staying offsite. I thought it would be nice to do a day at Universal. We have never done this before and I was looking around at the website. We are big Harry Potter fans. We are only looking at one day at Universal. Can we do both parks in one day or should we just pick one? TIA!

If you are going in early December and only plan on spending a very short period of time in The Wizarding World, then you can probably do the highlights of both parks. If you want to spend a few hours in there, then I would just stick to one park.

If you are going in late December and staying offsite, you will only be able to do one park and expect extremely large crowds.

We will be arriving December 29 and staying through January 6. Will Islands of Adventures be our best choice? What day is the best to go for least crowds?

Before New Year's Day it won't matter...it'll be a madhouse no matter which day you go. After NYD, weekdays will be your best choice.
