Is a Sports Jacket Required for a 3 Night Cruise?

I will be traveling next month on a 3 Night Cruise, prior to spending a week at WDW.

I have read that a Sports Jacket (Suite Coat) is suggested for Triton's and Palo's. I would prefer not to have to pack one, if I didn't need to. I already feel like I am "daddy pack mule" when we travel to WDW.

Would I feel comfortable wearing a pair of slacks and dress shirt at Triton's and Palo's.

Thanks for your advice.

According to the information I received with my docs, it is Suggested for Triton's and Palo. No shorts, jeans or tank tops.

We didn't eat at Palo for our 3 night cruise last April, so I can't speak to that, however we did eat in Triton's and DH, and 2 teen (16 & 18) DSs all wore khakis with golf style polo shirts, and never felt out of place. Very few men were wearing a jacket. Most were in same outfits that my family wore.

I hate suits. I'd go to work every day in cargo shorts and tennis shoes, if they'd let me.

But for me, I don't think I'd be comfortable without a jacket at Triton's or Palo. It's just a little piece of added bling when we hit the two super-nice places. I'm sure I'm in the minority on this, and that's okay. But my office is business casual, so the days I have to go to court and actually put a suit on are just...different. Same with those two restaurants.

Besides, if DW is going to get all dolled up in her best, I want to fit in. I hate feeling underdressed. Makes me even more uncomfortable than if I'm overdressed.

It's also a good excuse to get some cool pictures taken in the atrium.
