Is a real pain to switch rooms during stay at DL?

We are staying at CCI and have the reservation for all 5 nights but am thinking about switching to DLH for the last two nights because the last day there we are just planning on staying at the hotel and not actually being in DL but I stilll want us to have the magic and a really great pool to relax at. What I am wondering is how much of a pain is it during your trip to switch hotels and would they just let us drop our bags off at the hotel to wait for check-in so we don't miss any fun at DL?

I think it is a bit of a pain because you have to check out of one hotel by a certain time and can't check into the DLH until 3:00 or later. If you are lucky they might have a room available earlier. On the other hand I really like staying at the DLH and I would change because it would be so much fun and the pool area would be perfect for your young children.

I know at DLH you can show up whenever (even way early) and leave your bags if your room isn't ready. It really is a matter of whether you want to pack twice and so forth, I so hate packing I wouldn't probably do it, but if you are well organized, go for it DLH is great.

It's a bit of a pain, but I think it's worth it. I've done it several times. All of the Disney properties will gladly hold your luggage for you before or after you check out of their hotel. Alternatively, the CCI may hold your luggage for you until you are ready to transfer it to the DLH. Some thoughts:
- Probably the biggest pain IMO is just packing and unpacking.
- You do have to figure how to get your luggage from CCI to DLH. If you've got your own car, it's a breeze. Otherwise, you could possibly walk it, but I'd probably take a cab.
- You have to decide whether to try to check out before going to the park or whether to take a break to check out and transfer your luggage. During the summer when the park opens at 8, I've tended to take a break shortly before checkout to make the transfer.
- I like to take a break midday, but you won't have anyplace to hang out for awhile. That would be a good day to catch Aladdin, or watch the afternoon parade.
- If you time it right, you could get an extra EE since DLH guests get EE any day it is offered.
