Would be nice if they REALLY could predict the path of these things well in advance.
But they can't, so really no choice but to assume the worst and hope for the best.
Case in point--where I live. Yesterday AM our local weather crews had us buried in 2 to 4 to "maybe even upwards of 6" inches of rain. Flood warnings were everywhere. And we were told the wind could "easily" hit 40 MPH--or more.
That was our forecast early Saturday morning. The weather just 12 hours later?? Barely enough rain to wet my sidewalk, and absolutely NO trace of wind whatsoever.
The forecast was completely wrong.
BUT--I'm glad they were wrong this time in my favor!!! And because I had no way of knowing they would be wrong, I brought in all the chairs, hanging plants, etc just in case.
