Is a half day for Galaxy's Edge enough?

Does anyone know if you can just get diet Coke at Oga's? We don't drink alcohol and DH can't drink sugary drinks. I'd like to go check it out but I don't know that there is anything there he can have.

No, they don’t have soda. But they have a decent list of non-alcoholic drinks (check the menu in the app or on the website). All the non-alcoholic drinks I’ve tried have been pretty sweet, and I’m almost certain they are all pre-mixed, so not special requests. I did not think the Blue Bantha (blue milk) was overly sweet but I’m sure it contains sugar. It also comes with a cookie. You can get a glass of ice water though (free of change).

Water bottles, t-shirts, ball caps, patches, pins, etc., etc., etc.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Every store in Galaxy's Edge has their own unique merchandise which is not sold in other stores in the land. Maybe there is a little crossover with pins, but not much. Big whoops.

They don't sell Resistance merch at the First Order store. They don't sell Jewels of Bith items at the Toydarian Toymaker, etc.

Simple facts.

If you're talking about if it's sold elsewhere, that's different. Some SWGE items can be found in Downtown Disney or Tomorrowland. And, of course, tons of Star Wars branded items are sold at many different stores. But that's not Galaxy's Edge merch.

I don't think you understood the post.

What do you mean?
When GE first opened, you could "earn" Batuu credits for each run of MF:SR. The score reported to your team at the end of the rider was added to your Datapad credit balance as you exited through the cave-like hallways leading towards Docking Bay 7. Hondar hasn't paid out since reopening from Covid.

Also, your Datapad "standings" (the titles earned, the missions completed, your last MF:SR results, etc) were supposed to be advertised to special readers available to Cast Members so they could comment on your game play. This was briefly rolled out ... and then squashed.

I haven't played the "capture the flag" type game in Datapad recently -- but my earlier attempts since re-opening were really disappointing. Seems like too few people are playing to make it fun/engaging?? Or maybe Disney isn't resetting the game as they did before? Or ... something. Something just isn't working ... hmm.

Ah, yeah. I asked a few CMs about that. They said it was supposed to work, but none could give me specific advice on how to make it work.

however, I just got back from WDW and it worked there fine with no issues.

Did that ever really work? Again, I've heard mixed things from CMs about it.

I played that game off and on, especially during the early days, and not much seemed to come of it. It seemed like there was never much interest in it or involvement from other guests.

You can walk through and really experience Galaxy's Edge in a 1/2 day. My opinion is that TWDC made an earnest effort to theme the land into a real Star Wars experience for guests. In some ways, TWDC was very successful. The ships, buildings, doors, and elements feel like a Star Wars village. The problem, for me personally, with GE is that there is far too little energy in the land. The ships, such as the Falcon or an A-wing are really cool to see, but they just are there. There is no energy around it. Nothing moves. Sounds are muted. There's no life. Compare GE to Fantasyland, I would much prefer to spend more time in Fantasyland because there are canal boats floating, carousel spinning, the beautiful castle, characters walking through, etc. It has an energy that GE lacks.

Nonetheless, I would encourage anyone who hasn't seen GE and is interested to go see it. TWDC did a nice job. Not a great job, but a nice job.

One of my best friends absolutely adores it. I think she could spend days there. I, on the other hand, find it creepy. It's not a magical escape for me, which is what I love about most of Disney. It's a wonderful creation but it's a world I don't wish to be in.

To answer your question, then, depends on how much you would enjoy the atmosphere and "vibe" of it. I view it as a war-centered land that is bleak and depressing, while my friends see it as a recreation of beloved movies they've grown up with.

Even as a huge SW fan. I was struggling to find reasons to hang out longer than say 5-6 hours….

You can do alot of scanning and hacking, but looking through the shops is a hour at most.

We hung around to see what characters showed up, and got to see quite a few besides troopers….
Ogas is 45 minutes and only worth that once maybe.

You can do Galaxy's Edge in half a day. Docking Bay 7 has better food and drinks than Oga's, but it is fun to walk inside Oga's just to see it. The line/queue for Smuggler's Run is amazing if you are a Star Wars fan. It might be worth it going through the line, and then not riding. I know that's possible for other things, so it might be possible for Smuggler's Run. Rise of the Resistance is amazing. The shops are fun to browse in, but they are small market stalls so it doesn't take much time to go through them.
