Hi,

We bought our Annual Passes to WDW and I was all set on where to stay and all that. Now, when I check out this board, I am so intrigued as to if I should split my trip to include some nights at HRH.

However, that means I have to spend extra $ to buy the passes for my whole family. Based on everything I read so far, it seems that most of the people have older children than mine.

Should I wait a couple more years before we visit US/IOA? Thanks for any input you can provide.

:D

a 4 y/o would be able to enjoy both parks. they *might* like the Studio better, becuase there's more they can do. in IOA there's some rides they wont be able to do, but there's still a lot they can do.

My daughter was 4 back in August, and she did EVERYTHING with the exception of Hulk, DD, and Dr. Doom.

That is everything, Spiderman, MIB, Jurassic Park, Hanna Barbara, and KONG (RIP), T2 3D, Flying Unicorn, Pterdon Flyers, also including the playzones... we also did shows as well.

She loved IOA as well, so don't discount it. She loved Spiderman and Jurassic park. Also the water rides, were a big hit.. she was just the right height requirment for Dudley so that was a great treat. Jurassic Park was fun and not scarey for her either.

As for studios, now that Kong and Hanna are gone, there may be more for a four year old in IOA. But the ET ride was a big hit for her as well, so the vote could swing in either direction.

Thanks so much for all your replies. I think judging from my 4 year old, we need to wait for a couple more years. :D :D

IOA has a lot to offer younger kids. Seuss Landing is wonderful. The rides there have so much imagination to them. IT is really like stepping into a Dr Seuss book. The play are in Jurasic Park is great and so is the JP "building" lol I forgot what it is called. The place with all the interactive stuff. Our DD has been to US/IOA at 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 and loves the Universal parks.
At US there is the Barney show and play area, ET, Animal planet live, the woody woodpecker coaster, BTTF, Nick studios, and depending on when you go Shrek and Jimmy Neutron

As much as it pains me to admit, my four year old son likes Universal better than Disney. We have been twice now with our 4 and 2 year old sons. I think if your child is over 40" there is a lot to do at IoA and US. I also think the attractions MIGHT be more appealing to boys. They like the super heros, space aliens, flying cars, dinosaurs, etc. The kid's play zones in both parks could be a day's worth by itself. The Barney show is worth the price of admission. The Feivel area has a neat water slide ride you kind of have to find. The Curious George area has a foam ball factory kind of thing in the back of it. (We missed both of these the first time.) There are LOTS of areas in both parks to get wet. Wear bathing suits. ET was great, The animal planet show is a must see. My son loved Earthquake because you are on a subway train. Neither one, especially my 2 year old could get enough of the Unicorn or Woody Woodpecker roller coasters. I could go on and on. I think it is a more active park. You don't just sit and ride through looking at things, if that makes sense. They also make it VERY easy to do a child swap if Mom and Dad want to ride the big coasters. We still love Disney, but we have been splitting up our trips between the two.

You have me started to think that I should put down the deposit at HRH for next May and just wait and see to see if my 4yo will be ready. It sounds so much fun. Maybe we should at least go once. Thanks!!!:D
