We decided we need a "last minute" vacation and are thinking about taking a quick 3 night cruise in September. Is it worth it to go for just 3 nights? Time and money are a factor so the 3 night is our only option right now. We are taking a 7 night cruise in September 2005 and hadn't planned on taking a vacation at all this year. But we have been through a lot recently (suffered a loss) and need to do something fun! It will be me, DH, ds who is 3, and my mother. We may also tack on a day before the cruise and spend it at WDW (we still have a day left on our passes from our December trip). If anyone has any feedback on the 3 night cruise, I would sure appreciate it!!

The 3 nighter is a perfect little escape. DW and I are going next month while my parents take our kids for the weekend. We're going to spend the night before at the Raddison at the port to extend it a bit and always spend a few hours at Downtown Disney before heading home.

While it is short compared to a 7 day cruise, it is still relaxing. You do not have to go into Nassau, just stay on the ship. This will make it seem even less hectic. A 3 day cruise will also give you some experience before your 7 day to get to know the ship and the different activities that interest you.

Out of 38 Disney cruises that I've done, the vast majority have been three day cruises. Yes, it's way too short, but yes, it's also better than nothing (and a good way to save previous vacation days). I have trips reports in my blog that you can read to get more specific details:

We loved our 3 day cruise, as mentionned before, you might want to stay on the ship in Nassau, and enjoy the ship itself.
Any cruise is better than no cruise....

I've been wondering the very same thing! My DH and I did a 7-night in May, and I'm already longing to go again!
