Is a 2 br worth the pts

You will not regret the 2 bedroom once you get there. For the extra 100 points well worth it, especially for you mom, who will have her own room.

By all means, the 2br is worth it--like somebody else said, you won't ever want a smaller unit again (even a 2br lockoff seems too tight now!) Having personal space is what makes DVC rooms so far superior to regular rooms, and having to cram into a too-small unit negates that value.

And as far as park-view rooms, you're too right about rolling dice on whether you'll actually get a room high enough to see the park. We LOVED our lake view room at BLT (and could actually see the OTHER three parks from there, we were so high) and we could enjoy the MK view from the terrace at the top. Best of all worlds!

We stayed at BLT over New Years with a Magic Kingdom view. It was incredible. That being said, we probably won't do it again. Two bedrooms, absolutely, it's home that way. We ended up going up to TOTWL when we wanted the view of the park at night. We will always have a RSI bedroom with the kids. Magic Kingdom view, we are glad we did it once, but won't spend that many points for it again.

We did 2BR BLT in September. Fantastic. There were 6 of us and the extra space made all the difference.

We had a 2 YR old and a 4YR old as well...

Given that you have an infant, you'll be able to roll your stroller from the MK, after a long day at the park, kids passed out, all the way to your room from the park and never have to take the kids out of the stroller (as long as monorail isn't too crowded) Best thing ever.
