Canada's Wonderland has a limited time offer discounted seasons pass for $59.95 (when you buy 4 or more seasons passes). The regular price is $79.95for a seasons pass. The pass entitles you to unlimited admission for 2008, early park entry, food and merchandise discounts. The parking pass for the season is an additional $30. I've heard some people say Canada's Wonderland is great while others say it's terrible (long lines, expensive food and drinks, limited rides and amusements). I'm thinking of getting the seasons pass for my family of four (my kids are ages 7 and 11). Although my kids aren't big into roller coasters, we probably could find other rides to keep us busy and SplashWorks waterpark. Do you think the $59.95 seasons pass is a good deal and something I should get for my family???

It is a great deal if you use it.

We bought the annual pass a few years ago and got good use out of it. My brother lives north of Toronto so we had a place to stay.

They have some pretty good coasters there and around Christmas when I was on the 400 HWY I saw that they are building a new roller coaster that looks good.

Don't go expecting to feel that Disney magic, it isn't there. But it is a good theme park.

Get the parking pass and bring along your cooler full of drinks and sandwiches. You can exit the park and have lunch and come back when you are done. There is also a few fast food restaurants close by too.

Sure if you don't mind standing in lines for 3 hours looking at nothing but concrete and chainlink fences and grafitti.

The new coaster looks amazing. Riding that would be worth it but if you're not into coasters.....

That is good value. We had season passes in 2005 and got our money's worth.

Having the pass let's you stay as little or as long as you want. We would often visit for 3 or 4 hours at opening and ride like crazy until it got busy. At that point we'd leave. Other times we'd plan a water park day and arrive at open to snag chairs. Again we'd leave when we had enough of the sun, or annoying people ;)

As long as you can avoid the souvenir, food, and game pitfalls, it can be fairly economical. Like the previous poster said, pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a mid-day break outside the front gate under the shade of a tree.

The past few years we have chosen to get Toronto Zoo passes as our summer family activity. May have to check out this offer. Think i passes are good at Cedar Point too?

I'd say it's worth it if you live close by or plan on going often. It's a once a year thing for us. We pack a cooler and have a picnic on the grass outside. That price of $59.95 seems really close to a one day pass regular price. So even if your unsure you won't be loosing out on too much if you buy.

I swear you and my husband Dave are so much alike.....this would be his exact response verbatim!!!:lmao: How much does it cost for one day into the parks now at CWL?

If you can get there in June while the kids are still in school or visit in the weekends in the fall the crowds aren't bad.

But I'd suggest Great Wolf Lodge if you are set on a disney type of service.

i agree we had season passes 2 years back went late may, then 1 x in summer. it was mid week, and the crowds were unbelieveable. So we actually left early because the crowds were crazy, the line ups for rides were over 2hrs. Why someone would wait that long in the hot sun is beyond me? :confused3 But i never did go back after that.
Although the price seems to be a good deal, you can get tickets for $35 from Macs etc, but sometimes even cheaper deals. On top of that, i live in Hamilton, and the drive through Toronto seems to be getting worse every summer. Weekdays you have to deal with rush hour traffic, weekends with all the travellers.
The service and staff are way off the scale for good service, especially if you are Disney spoiled :goodvibes If you live closer to Toronto, and plan going early mornings then it might be a value. For me, i would probably go 1x season but not for a few more years. Hoping they get better service since the ownership changed a couple years back. I just don't see that happening anytime soon.

I find the same thing about spring and fall and early mornings, especially at the water park. I think the problem with Wonderland is all the houses around it now that have kids and teens with seasons passes who get dropped off and spend the summer going everyday. Don't get me wrong, I think that the park is for kids and having fun, but the volume of people is insane. My kids and I spent 45 minutes just getting in the front gates one day last year. I know, I should have just turned around and left but we were heading to the water park on a hot day and just wanted to play a bit. So I am finding each year it is less and less of a family park and more of a teenagers playground complete with swearing and groping everywhere you go. I probably wont be getting the passes this year, but I said that last year too. Wow, I didn't mean to rant so much, sorry-think Disney, think Disney, think Disney-ahhh that feels better!:rotfl:

Some people suggest a less expensive family option like the Toronto Zoo, which is cheaper, year-round and doesn't have line-ups like Canada's Wonderland.

Okay, so this is going back.... but I remember paying about $65 for an annual pass YEARS ago. Keep in mind I've not lived in Toronto in over 10 years, so that's an indicator.

So, if it's less money for an annual pass now... I'd say that's a good thing ;)

it is a good thing, yes. We live about a half hour from the park and the seasons pass fee has dropped about 10 dollars from the early buy now and save huge prices. One has to wonder why they have dropped off of the lowest promotion they had which was 69? Me for one thinks people are not lining up to pay, and season pass holder numbers are down. If they had huge sign ups there would be no reason to drop the price. I am still hummin and haaain' about buying ours. We leave to Florida next Tuesday, and depending how broke we are after we get back from Diseny will decided whether or not to take advantage of this offer. If/when we go it is always early mornings so we get good use out of the waterparks, and kids rides. If I had teenagers, I would not be as enthusiastic as line ups on nice weekends are off the chart.

In 2005 we bought season's passes for two boys under 10, and me and hubby. We also got the parking pass, but so did everybody else. We had booked every Friday off the whole summer and into the fall for optimum season pass usage. We got there early and enjoyed the rides and waterpark stuff before all the unsupervised teenagers arrived. Sorry, folks, but when you are not there, they run rampant, I saw a teenager knock over a little girl in line at a ride so he could get there before her!! He didn't stop to see if she was OK, just plowed her over.
We'd stay until park closing and later when there were fireworks. Yup, we stood in line, sometimes for over and hour and wondered... why? The water park is OK,....but T.O. Zoo is very great and reasonable, and you take your cooler in with you, you don't have to walk out the gate and then back in. Get a cooler with wheels, got mine at Wal-Mart for 30 bucks and it is 60L, holds a load and not heavy to push around even when fully loaded. We have not been back to CW since, looking forward to being spoiled at WDW in July.
Ontario Place is getting real bad, we spent 2 hours JUST TO GET IN!! and there was seagull droppings everywhere and too busy for my taste. If you are totally bored all summer, go to CW, if you want a relaxing day, go to the Zoo, we go every July 1st. No matter how many people are there, it never seems busy.:thumbsup2
