Is 41 old?

I'm 45. No way I'd shoot stuff into my face just to keep myself from looking 45. I don't see the point - there's so many things I could spend that kind of money on.

I wore short skirts at 41. If I can knock off enough weight I will wear them again, now.

Here is a way to tell if 41 is old: Would it gross you out to see a love scene in a movie with a couple of 41 year olds?

You mean like Johnny Depp and Halle Berry? No wait...Johnny is 46. Halle is 43.

It was until I hit 42! ;) Now I'm *ahem* well past that and I think it's quite young.

41 is old enough not to ask silly questions about age.

That's not very nice. She has every right to come and ask for opinions.

I think it's up to the individual to do what feels right for them. If you can afford Botox and think it will make you feel better about yourself, than go for it!
I am in my low 50's and I'm seriously starting to consider 'doing something' - I'm starting to look a lot older than I feel.

yes, if anything you are still interested in, is a timed event. Except lightning fast smart aleck remarks. I am still the king of that... at 44.

MIkeeee

Shouldn't you be off looking at You Tube? :upsidedow

No, and I hope it's not in most people's opinions, seeing as how I'm 42!

I completely get your point about the botox. I thought that, too, until I started getting the angry 11s now I don't look like myself, I feel. I just want those two lines to go away because they make me look wayyy older, and a lot different, IMO.

"Old" has been redefined over the past few decades. I think 40 was old in the early 1900s, now people are active/happy/productive into their 80s.

The other thing about age is that without it, you don't get to do much. When you're 20 you have all kinds of goals/dreams/adventures in mind. If you stayed 20, you'd never get to do all those things.

Besides, anyone with JL in their avatar rises above "old". You're timeless;)

I'm 52, and I don't consider myself old...usually.....

So, no, I don't think 41 is old at all. I think it's the younger side of middle age actually. I'm in the middle of middle age. :)

I'm 42 and I would definitely say no. However, a couple of weeks ago I had a 20-something I know ask me if I was going through a mid-life crisis.:scared1: I thought that was a little rude and really wasn't sure where it came from. That day I questioned whether I was old, but decided instead that she was just really young!;)

you should have just told her that you were just tired of dealing with the twenty somethings going through an extended puberty.:lmao:

Thank you for your replies! Not the answers I was expecting right off the bat -- I thought I'd hear things like, "Well, it's not young."

I find myself wondering if I should be rollerblading and doing things like that or do I look foolish at 41? I don't feel old, that is for sure but the frownies are starting to come out so I am considering botox. I have very young children so I figure I'm far from being a grandma.

It's a confusing age, but then again, so were the 30's. I was wondering if I was old then, too.
If you want to RollerBlade, do it! Forty-one isn't old (although sometimes it's funny to read posts on the DIS stating things like, "I'm afraid my parents won't be able to walk all day at Disney, they're getting on in years", only to find out that the parents are about 45!).

Frankly, I've been on this earth longer than you, and while I'm achy all over and have almost completely white hair... I'M NOT OLD. "Old" right now means (to me) someone in their late eighties - but I'm sure I'll change my opinion in twenty years or so :teeth:

Nope, I don't think so!

My mom turned 50 this year and is one of the youngest people I know. She is fit, loves life and still gets silly with the characters at WDW.:lovestruc

My grandma turned 85 this year. She is incredibly independent, goes for a power walk every day and season baseball tickets. She stays up later than I do!

I totally believe that age is just a number. Live how you want, do what you want and don't worry about other people thinking that you "shouldn't" be doing something because of your age. It's never to late to live!:goodvibes

(Although I agree with previous posters in saying I wouldn't want to see my 85 yo grandmother in a miniskirt. But if she wanted to... more power to her!:rotfl:)

41 old? Let me think - I know I was 41 long ago, like sometime during the past millennium ... hmmn ... Nope, not old. I completely agree with Kaytieeldr:

When I was a teen, I thought you were ancient at 18!!! :rotfl:

When I was in law school, I went to court several times, to follow some trials.

One trial I remember - a man was charged with residential burglary. In this case, there was a twelve-year-old witness who was asked to describe a person he had seen skulking around the house. He persisted in calling this man middle-aged, until the judge finally understood to ask him what he meant by "middle-aged". The answer? "He was at least twenty!"

To be honest for some it is. It depends on their health, ect.

But generally no, I wouldn't consider it old by many means.

Old to me is anyhting 75+.....
