Is 304 Days Too Soon to Start Planning??? (with chapter links!!!)

Ok...so...today was 180 from part two check in.

I was able to book...

8-25-11 @ Brown Derby at 11:30am (I know I said i booked thei before but I had booked it on the wrong day which is why it seemed like ti allowed it!)

@ Cinderella's Royal Table at 6:40pm ( I wanted 6pm)

8-26-11 @ Akershus at 9:45am (I wanted 9am)
@ Marrakesh at 2pm
@ Narcoossees at 8:40pm (I wanted 8pm)

8-27-11 @ Chef Mickey's at 7:45am (I wanted 8am)
@ Liberty Tree Tavern at 2:15pm (I wanted 2pm)
@ Artist Point at 8:40pm (I wanted 8pm)

8-28-11 @ 1900 Park Fare at 8:00am
@ Tutto Italia at 12:55pm (I wanted 12pm)
@ Yachtsman Steakhouse at 6:40pm (I wanted 6:00pm)

I was not able to book for 8-29-11 but I only need one for Cape May Cafe for breakfast and that is usually not a problem to get so I'll just keep checking it out until I get it.

So that is where our dining is at. I had to give up a couple of things I wanted in order to get other things (I left out Jiko and Flying Fish). Flying Fish we have been to before and everyone really liked it but the location lost. And Jiko I have been dying to try but it was the one I thought would be least liked by everyone else...so it lost too. I am happy with what we have though. Some of them are new for us and a lot of them are repetes for the kids and I but new for Lou. I pretty much got times I wanted or times that would not be a problem.

And just FYI, the online system recognized my dining plan and therefore only took a credit card hold for Cinderella's Royal Table. I was concerned about that. I am glad I don't have to make an extra call for nothing.

We also did a little more shopping for toiletries and such. Got Ty sand Lou a couple more pairs of shorts and Tyler got an Animal cap.

But what do I do now? Pretty much, I'm done...ready to go....what do I do to fill in the time?

So yesterday was a wash...by that I mean, Tyler had his frst scrimmage for Arena Football in the morning. They did really well. This is the year he is the "big" guy at the level...and as it turns out I mean that age and size wise...he is the biggest kid on the team and almost at weight. So after having the last year's Arena and regular football teams go undefeated and winning the Super Bowls...they always seem to loose something when they seperate the kids (the "big" guys from last year move up into a higher division) but while it may be a little more difficult to win, last year's "big"guys were a really awesome group of players, I think they will do pretty well. And out of the whole team having a good practice, Tyler had an awesome one. And I cannot say that is a usual happening. I mean he usually has some good spots but he had a really great whole game...it was a nice turn of events. Makes me wonder though if it really is the coaching?

So after the game, around 12:30 we stopped at T.G.I.Fridays for lunch, went home, and took a nap...except that the nap lasted until about 7pm and then the kids and i got up had a snack and then went back to sleep...Lou kept sleeping but he had worked Saturday night picking up an extra shift so he had an excuse...but what the heck?!?!?!?! The whole day??? What's with that??? And I still did not want to get up this morning to go to work...and no one else had to get up becasue the kids are off school today and tomorrow and Lou is off today too. Not fair at all!

But on Saturday, Skye and I found a box and wrapped it with Minnie paper to use to put all of our stuff for vacation in as we accumulate it. Lou thinks were crazy...we say it makes us feel a little closer to the magic! It is getting pretty full...mostly toiletries, some rain ponchos, things like that.

I guess the on-line system is not going to let me make ADRs for the 29th until 180 days from that day which should be March 2nd???? That seems so far away...but Cape Maye for breakfast shouldn't be a problem...so I'm not going to sweat it.

What do you all think????

hhhhhhmmmmm...what to say, what to say....

Not much going on on the planning front.

Lou has got me a bit confused though. He is anti-vacation talk at this point. He does not know what is planned, he does not know what is costs, he does not know where we are eating, he does not know when he is leaving, does not care to know becasue he says he either won't remember it by the time it comes around or I will have changed it again. I showed them pics form someone's trip report from the new balloon ride at Downtown Disney...he looked but had nothing to say. But he got a new iPhone a few months ago (I'm getting mine next month I think!) and every now and then he'll point out a new Disney app he found and little things like that. So he isn't ignoring it but does not want to talk about it either...he drives me crazy!

And on that note, I was not interested in that balloon ride thing...until I saw the pics...I forget whose they were but what an awesome view! So maybe we'll try to make a point of going for that too. Anyone been? What's the best time of day for maximum viewing pleasure? Any opinions on if it is worth the trip over for or not?

Skye wants to go NOW!!!! She had a friedn just get home and then another is going soon...I just keep reminding her that she will get her turn...and it will be great...however, I then have to tell myself that too!

Aaaahhhhhh...I wish we were at Mickey's House now! I hear and say that a lot lately.

We purchased a few more necessities for our trip...you know, contact solution, antibacterial creme, bandaids...things like that...and a few more pairs of shorts and junk for the guys. But in the end, there has not been much else happening on the trip planning front!

On a personal, non-trip-related subject though....Arena Football has begun...and even when football sounds like such a great thing...it isn't. This is Tyler's second of two years at the Widget level. As history dictates but the rule of the game as set forth by coaches over the past seven years, the older kids at each level get most of the playing time. Tyler paid his dues on the bench last year and every other year in years prior. He has been practiced as a starter and was told he'd be playing both sides of the ball for most of the game. Then tell me why, at the first game of the season, he sat the bench for most of the second half...all but three plays of the second half actually. I just wish that someone some day would take coaching as seriously at 12 year old boys take playing football and do it right! Don't tell a kid something you have no intentions of delivering. Don't intend to deliver it and then not. And if there is a reason for changing the plan, you HAVE, HAVE, HAVE to explain it to the kid. I mean, geeze, they are old enough to know what's going on and yet still young enough for it to brin gthem down. Do you know how hard it is to watch you kid crying because he's pulled when he expected to be able to play most of a game for no reason??? No one ever said coaching was easy but if you're not going to do it then don't! It's right up there with teaching...you could be the difference in a kid's life and if you're going to coach, that should be what you're there for...the kids! And unfortunately in our area we have a sore standard for what we call a coach or a teacher! I am just so frustrated with the activities that Ty participates in and with the school/teachers he has that it makes me really sad. Skye, luckily, has found a coach and a dance instructor and has had teachers that take an interest in her and love watching her succeed and her life is so much better for it (Ty did not start at that school until 2nd grade so he did not get to have those teachers). Tyler has never found that anywhere...and he so desperately needs that.

Sorry about that vent but I am really dragging after yesterday's let down. And I am so frustrated and have no where else to take it to. So thanx for listening my pretend Disboard friends...

So this morning I made our last ADR...Cape May Cafe for breakfast on Monday August 29th at 9am. So this is what we are looking at...

So all ADRs are made and at this point in time I am not feeling even the least bit compelled to change any of them! I hope i stay that way though! I am feeling at a loss right now as to what I can do to plan or get ready. We have been picking up things here and there that we will need or clothes for the summer that we will also need for vacation.

Last night I measured Skyler and she is now at 44 inches tall exactly and we still have 5 1/2 months to go!!!!!! So that opens up Everest and Space Mountain and Mission Space (although I am not sure I want to ride the "real" side so we'll see about that one!)...yea!!!! She's excited...Tyler, not so much. I think the fact that she could go on so much last time really pushed him to ride things he normally would say he did not want to ride (because he is a chicken!)...but he's already saying there are things he isn't going on. I think at this point it is just a game or a chance to see how much control he actually has...but he knows if the rest of us are going, he is too...or he is sitting and waiting which will not be the funnest option...so we'll see where we come out with that!

I am planning on paying off part one of our trip in the very near future and at least most of part two too. Part three is already paid off...it was only one night room only so the deposit paid it off. Then I will have everything paid off (or close to paid off) including our extra OOP food/tip costs which I have $700.00 in disney gift cards and will have at least $300.00 in Disney Visa rewards. That should more than cover our OOP dining/tips. But that is without adult beverages, I consider those in the souvinears budget becasue they are not necessities.

I want to order some lots of pins off odf ebay soon too. Last time we went I ordered a lot of 100 and they were easily gone in the eight nights we were there. So this time I'd like to order each kid a lot of 100. I also want to get Skye and me the pearl carriages and a chain so we can pick a pearl in Japan. She always wants to do that but we haven't in a long time...in fact, I don't think we have since she has been old enough to pick her own.

I am still wondering about how to decorate our windows at ASMo and CBR. We're not going over any holiday (which is what we usually use to decorate with) so I am going to just have to watch for some summery clings and lights. I think we might have palm tree lights left from Skye's Luau/Lilo and Stitch Birthday Party a couple of years ago...so that might work for Caribbean Beach.

But other than that, we are at that point of not having much to do...what do you all do during that time?

...and I got some good news to brighten my so far dumpy mood today!!!

Well, I get into work (on time for a change!) and what is sitting in my e-mail???? Come on, guess...

Yep...a PIN code...for free dining that ends on August 13, 2011. Now I had read all the posts about the offer and did not think anything of it...until it landed in my mailbox! And then id dawned on me...AUGUST 13 IS OUR ARRIVAL DAY!!!!! But i thought I remembered Disney removing that loophole so that you could not get the deal for your whole trip unless it all fell within the dates...but i forwarded the e-mail to my wonderful on-line travel agent and she said...yep, it'd save me money and yep I can get it...that bad news is that I will have to go with a preferred room at All-Star Movies to get it...well, a preferred room and free dining and saving money...nothing bad about that!!!! And I also had her drop yhe hopper part on Part One of the trip becasue I really did not plan for us to take advantage of that...it was just free so what the heck! So I saved $217.59 and upgraded to a preferred room...not too bad!

And I thought I was all out of planning and things to do for a while...silly me!

...and Tyler may not make it till then!!!! That kid can make the stipidest wrong decisions ever! And yet, he is not stupid at all...and the things he is doing ot get himself in trouble at school are so out of character for him it is unbelievable...I mean I believe it but it is just so not Tyler! If I have a nervous breakdown between now and then, what happens to my vacation???

On a good note though...I got my new iPhone yesterday...I don't completely know how to use it yet...and I am not computer literate about finding things on my own. I am great once I know and understand something but it's the getting there I need help with so I am working on it. But Lou had to work last night and has to work tonight so it will probably be until Saturday morning when the girls (Skye and her friend Kailyn) when Kailyn's mom can show me some stuff...

And I was thinking about getting Tyler the little $49.00 one and addidn texting to our plan but now I think he does not deserve it...and least not for a while...and he had just gotten over all the crud at the beginning of the school year and the grades issue (I think he should be getting all As again...no thanks to he not-so-wonderful teacher (thanx to me and Tyler but at school I am sure they would not agree).

And I thought I was all out of planning and things to do for a while...silly me!

Wow you have been busy. Sorry I have been MIA... now to go back and read all the other updates. I love me a TR with table of contents. :)

I know what you mean about planning. I am doing it all... including the budget spreadsheet. My sister was making fun of me until I told her that I knew down to the penny what DH and I were spending and knew how much to save. Then she changed her tune and asked me to add a couple of things to her budget since she and my baby brother are going to be there a day early.

About free dining pin... did you get one for QSDP or Regular? I saw you had a lot of TS selections. I am glad you saved some moneys... but make sure you take in account all the Sit downs you might be eating at. :) (I am an over budgeter! love me some dining plan so I dont have to worry about it!)

Planning is half the fun isn't it!

We got in under free dining when it was offered at the end of last year for the second part of our trip (at Caribbean Beach) and upgraded to deluxe (so paid $792.00 for deluxe dining essentially) but we were paying for Quick Service Dining Plan for Part One...but I just received the PIN for free Quick Service Dining (that I was paying for initially) and had that applied. I did have to go to a preferred room at All-Star Movies but that's ok and I dropped the hopper part of our 4 day passes becasue I did not have us planning to use them (but they were free) but kept the "water parks and more" part becasue we do plan to use that. And I still saved $217.00 ish...would have been more if I had not had to upgrade to a preferred room and did not want the "& more" option but saving is saving and it was all done within boundries of what we were going to pay for anyway. We plan to pay out of pocket for Planet Hollywood with our $15 off coupon (from booking the package), Chefs de France, and T-Rex. And then we will pay out of pocket for Cape May for breakfast on the last day (becasue I couldn't fit it in anywhere else without losing something) and we will be staying at Yacht Club that night and we (the kids and I becasue Lou hasn't been there) love Cape May so it was not an option to miss it...and for whatever we decide to do for lunch that day...probably ESPN. There are a few meals where we will pay for a kids meal or entree out of pocket (specifically at signature dining spots) becasue Tyler just won't be happy eating what is on the adult menu or eat enough of it to justify the cost. And there a couple of places where Skye will pay out of pocket too just because we have too many Table Service meals planned since Tyler will not be using all his own credits. And just for the record...I am not planning on breaking any rules (I know how we are about that around here). We will never pay for more than one kid's meal using the kid's dining credit anywhere...anywhere he does not use a credit will be paid for out of pocket...so actually Disney is making more money off of me really.

Did all of that make sense?

Now, if you're like Lou, your eyes glazed over after about the forth line of that paragraph...which is why I come here. I am kind of hoping that after he enjoys eating The World and then has to actually pay for two meals out of pocket (Cape May and ESPN) he will thank me for all the wonderful work I put into this...stay tuned to see if that actually happens or not... :rotfl:

Well I ordered pins off of ebay on Friday of last week and they arrived yesterday...talk about great service! We got 200 and only a small amount were keepers (Lou collects villans, Ty collects pirates and elephants, and Skye does Ariel and Figment...well, there are a few other pins they just happened to like but their main collections are those specific things) but most of them will be traded! Fun, fun, fun...and they came out to about $.09 per pin! Cannot beat that! I'll set them up and take a pic sooner or later to show you...we were checking them out between runnin form work and to Gymnastics and then a football by-law meeting. So we just did not have the time.

Skye got her "report card" form one gymnastics class last night. She is staying in Silver I again (which is fine, we did not expect her to move up as quickly as she did) but only for like two skills so she should get those and be able ot move after the next session...however, she has her second class on Wednesday (they are actually independent of eachother and have different teachers and all) so we'll see what that teacher says. They do have to agree but the Wednesday class she seems to do better in so we'll see.

Tyler's team won on Sunday...something like 35 -2...yep, two safetys (sp?) in the game! So now they are 1-1...and the really should have won the first one....all in a day's game though.

Next week is parent-teacher conferences and report cards. After Tyler's rough stars in sixth grade with his horrible teacher (I'm sorry but I cannot find a redeeming quality for this man...he says the words "*iss" and "s*ck" apparently in regular rotation to 11 and 12 year old kids among other non-redeeming things) I think he should be back on the straight A bandwagon...except for reading becasue I don't have a clue about that class because all work is done in class and then apparently recycled in class...without parents seeing it...and yes, I have complained about that and asked that Tyler bring his work home...hasn't happened yet. And Skye is apparently just as perfect as she says she is becasue I will have not problems with her conference or her report card...and she has a good teacher...so that helps a lot!

I seriously cannot wait for summer to start (which is June 15 th for us this year) becasue of my dislike for the way things are run at school at Tyler's level...well, and that ti brings us closer to DISNEY WORLD!!!!

...and I just had typed out a long heart wrenching entry about our dog and the system timed me out...the one time I did not save it to word first...uuuggghh!

Anyway, the gist of it, becasue I just don't think I can bear to go through it all again, is that Dakota, our 13 1/2 year old shepard mix we adopted form the pound when she was 10 weeks old, is nearing the end of her life I think and it has been a real difficult morning for me. She was our first baby and she is getting worse. it has been going on for a few months now but I think it is almost time. I really just wish she'd just go to sleep and not wake up becasue I don't know if I can handle taking her in and looking into her eyes knowing I wont ever again...and I couldn't chicken out and let someone else take her, that wouldn't be fair to her. I know she has had a happy full life, more than most shepards probably get according to life expectancies, but it is so hard! Skye is the strong one and always has words of wisdome in times like this, wise beynd her almost seven years, that girl is! But Tyler is not happy about it. He finally got it that she is going to die soon and now he wants to wake her up everytime he sees her just to make sure she's still alive. I've known this would happen one day, it has to, but for some reason this morning it hit me and I have been crying on and off since.

We love her like part of our family and it is really sad to have ot think about this...thanx for letting me put it all out there! Hug you fur babies for me!

And our maps arrived...the kids loved them...we did the character ones...they're cute but I just had them do the standard map becasue we don't really do favorites...we want it all!

I don't know why that sounds so exciting??? Maybe becasue it's a nice milestone kind of a number??? I don't know??? But I just want to keep saying...
150 more days!
150 more days!
150 more days!
150 more days!
150 more days!
150 more days!
150 more days!
150 more days!
150 more days!
150 more days!

Wow, I was MIA for a while there...not that we have not been thinking Disney but we have just been really busy. And sick. And busy. And did I say busy? Well, we were.

Skye had what we though was pink eye. So we took her to the CVS Minute Clinic and the redness went away but then two days later she had a blood spot on one eye so we were off to the regular doctor...who said she thought it was just a burst blood vessel but since Skye was saying it hurt she wanted us to take her to an opthomologist in the next few days...so the next day she was there. Ends up that she was right...and the optho said it would get uglier before it got better but that it would just work itself out. And this morning is pictures at school and you cannot really see it...phew!

Lou was sick with a cold and now I am. And I always get things worse than everyone else...it's just not fair!

And will all of this going on, Tyler has a project due tomorrow or Friday (she has not said yet) for Social Studies on Greek Mythology. He pulled Poseidon and Giants so he had to to a work up (report, play, display, whatever) on each and I guess they are presenting it to the class in the gym. He is doing posters with detailed info and pictures on it....they look pretty neat so far...I'll have to post a picture when they are done. He also had a field trip yesterday to the Aquarium for squid disection. It was pretty neat!

We are half way through Arena Football season and baseball season starts soon...pictures are on Sunday. But we do not have a schedule yet.

We have a trip to Great America scheduled for April 30 with a bunch of friends for my mom's work picnik so we are hoping Tyler does not have a game. And we will get a Twicket to return for free any time before June 19 so we'll have to fit that in too.

And in all that we are planning Skye's seventh birthday parties...yes, I said parties...she wants a friend party and a family party. It is her golden birthday so how could I argue. The soonest she could schedule her friend party at gymnastics is May 28 (her actual birthday is April 7) because she is so busy in April and May. We are doing a dinner party for family on April 16. She went shopping for her best friend's party this weekend and ended up buying her birthday present from us also...she hit up Justice and Target...she came out with more that her BFF.

Skye's first competition was moved form this weekend to May 15 & 16 and then dress rehearsal for the recital is the following Thrusday, pictures are the following Friday, and recital is the following Sunday. She dances at Great America on June 5 and then there might be one other competition in June. She was supposed to be off this week form dance becasue it is spring break in that district but the dance instructor called extra manditory practice for two hours on Friday for all competition teams. And she was supposed to be on break for gymnastics too but has a make up class from the snow day tomorrow.

So as you can see we are running crazy. I don't honestly know how I keep it all organized but I do...but I am sure glad there are only four of us...any more and I might crack...I don't know how those of you with more than two kids do it!!!

So here and there we have been picking up extras for the trip that we see as we find them. We got some summer clings for our windows, hand held mini fans, and some toiltries we needed. We got a bit further on our countdown calendar but I don't know if we are going to make it to 100...so maybe we'll have to see how far we get and just go from there. I have not paid down any of the trip yet...I just keep putting it off and I don't know why? We did have a scare with the school district...so maybe that's it. I specifically scheduled our trip so we would return home two days before the first half day of school. So that way the kids would have a day off to recoup and get all their things together. I did not want Tyler to miss he first day/days at Junior High. Well, a rumor began going around that they were going to change the schedule to go more with the high school's which starts two weeks before ours....and thus encompassing my whole trip!!!! I was starting to stress! But I spoke to the assistant superintendent and she said that is absolutely not true as they cannot start any earlier than six days prior to Labor Day. They were proposing August 29 as the first half day of school...so Ty will miss the first half day. I can deal with that. But maybe that's what is holding me back from paying off the trip.

So with all of that (and that's just the highlights!) the next 137 days should go pretty quickly actually...so I guess that's good...I just wish the weather would get nicer and stay that way and maybe I'd feel better about it all. All this cold and dark is draining me!!! But soon enough, the day will be here when I can enter "1" in that title box and all will be right in my little part of the world...

Until next time...

So we're at 130 more days...and we are getting antsier every day!

Not much Disney planning going on right now.

Tyler's football team is 3-3...and working hard to finish in the top half of the teams. Tyler is now playing center...which is not where he started out but he is apparently the best one for the job...and that's not necessarily saying anything...I mean he has done great considering he has never done it before but like I said, he has never done it before. Baseball pics were Sunday and the season starts soon. They have not had much full team practices though becasue Tyler and two others are on the football team an dthe head coach of baseball is the twins' dad (there are only a total of 10 kids on the team and one does not want to be but his dad is making him)...so let's think good thoughts...apparently Tyler is going to get to catch this year...he likes catching...so that will make him happy. His grades are back to where they should be again and he is not grounded for the first time in a long time in one way or another. So, he's doing good!

Skye is getting close to competition time and recital time for dance. She got her competition costume on Friday. It needs to be hemmed a little but otherwise it's cute. The others they may get on Saturday. They learned their whole dance but now need to perfect it. She also started a new session at gymnastics on Monday. Her Monday class is coached by a Team coach for the first time so that's great! But they put 10 kids in there and that is just too many for one coach. But she did her flip flop all by herself (in this class they are just beginning to learn them) and she mastered her squat on in the last class of the last session and now doesn't get what took her so long to do it! She's such a weirdo!!! And her teacher loves her and her report card is perfect and her printing is perfect and everyone loves her and she is helpful and so on and so on...her teacher just couldn't stop praising her...I thought she would be my school problem child...I guess not! So she's good!

And Lou and I are over worked and underpaid...we're over run and tired...and we need a vacation!!!

Today, at 128 more days, is Skyler's 7th Birthday!

It is her "Golden Birthday" and she was very excited going into it. She got Spiderman and Hannah Montana cup cakes and apple juice boxes for school today. Usually she is on Spring Break for her birthday so this is the first time she has gotten to take treats to school on her actual birthday! It's the little things! When she woke up this morning to ChiChi screaming about it being her birthday she came downstairs to see what she got from us. In addition to the shopping at Justice she did last week for her present, she got a Twilight card set, a picture frame with three spots that said "friends" on the top (she is very big on "BFFs" now and has many!), a bucket of gum balls, a pooping chicken, and a Mickey DS case with a Mickey stylus...I'll have to get a pic and show you guys! Then I had to leave. After I left she found her 7 birthday wishes hidden around the house with Tyler's help. I did that one year for Tyler because I never get to be home fo rthe birthdays and ever since they both request it...not quite the same when you request it as waking up and finding them all over but whatever!

So she is planning her family party as a dinner party. She, and yes I did say she, is making stuffed manacotti...and I am making all the rest to go with it. And we're having cake. It is kind of a scaled back family party....not the whole crazy lot of 'em, just the main ones of inprotance...plus some of them are being invited to the friends party. She is theming the family dinner party loike an Italian Restaurant. But the soonest we sould do it was May 1...so she has to wait a while!

Her friend party is going to be at gymnastics on May 28. She is doing Mickey Mouse. She had a hard time finding things though because she did not want Mickey Mouse Club House because that's too baby. Even though she will still watch it (Tyler will to, ssssshhhhhh! :) ). But she finally found some invites and stuff that I think is really Club House stuff but it is not overly so. And then she is going with a lot of red, yellow and black as the main colors. So almost two months after her birthday she will celebrate. She is inviting around 50 kids!!!! That's crazy! And this was going to be the year I was not doing big parties...until she pointed ou tit was her golden birthday...then she stuck me!

So today is all about Skye...
