Is 3 out of 4 days at MK too much?

Hi. Still having a hard time figuring out days. I still have some time but my ADR date is soon and I'd like to have a general game plan. We are hoping to stay at CR ( will call tomorrow for FD!) and I had thought 2 days at MK, 1 at HS, and 1 at AK. My kids will be 2 and 4. But now I'm wondering if should take advantage of being so close to MK and switch our AK day to another MK day. DH thinks that the girls will get bored doing so many days at one place though. We plan on doing Disney probably at least 1x/year. Is AK better when they are older? Other than the safaris and general touring, I'm not sure that there is much else for my kids, but they do love animals. We are planning on doing midday breaks, so sticking closer to the hotel would be ideal I'd think. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

I don't necessarily think your girls are too young for AK.

I think the best thing to do is write down all your must-dos and go from there. I would try to fit a day (or even at evening) in Epcot. Maybe trade our the HS day for Epcot?

What about doing AK in the morning and MK for a third time after your midday break? Or if you've had enough of MK after two days, check out Epcot.

We always do at least a half day at AK. There is plenty for you to do with the little ones. The Safari, animal trails, train to the petting area, birds of flight, Nemo show, Lion King (may not be operating). The bigger rides are good if your oldest is tall enough.

I would say to make a decision after the first MK day. See what you can get one and what else you would like to do and decide the, I know you want to make ADR's, but maybe have that specific day a CS meal day or just eat where you can get an late ADR when you decide.

My DD could spend everyday there (with a trip to Epcot here and there). DS really likes AK and is into science and nature.

We did this same thing our first trip, but we switched HS for Epcot. In my opinion, AK is great for little ones - that boneyard thing is awesome. Plus the safari and several other things. Mine actually show zero interest in HS. I think you should keep it as you have it. Not sure when you're going, but you could always pick up a half day at MK by getting a party ticket for MNNSHP or MVMCP on one of your off days or the second half of the day you go to HS.

Thanks all. I think we may keep it as is or at least keep our options open. I want to do HS for the Disney Jr and H&V as my DDs are big fans of jake/sophia/etc. We are going in Nov. so I wanted to see the Osbourne lights as well. I think my biggest concern was about the travel time to AK but I do think my DDs will like it. Thanks again for everyone's thoughts.

AK is fun, they're ALL fun, but if I only had 4 days, I would spend 3 in MK with kids these ages.

We spend a minimum of 3 days in MK each time we've gone and never gotten bored. It's fantastic. Later, when they are older, they will enjoy other parks more, but right now, at these ages, MK is the park to visit!!

I think MK is the one park you can't have too much of. It literally has the most to do for younger kids out of all the other parks; they loved repeating the rides there.

My kids are 24, 18, 15 and 6 and we are spending 4 days of our 10 day ticket at MK Its our family's favorite park!!

Definitely not! MK is my favourite park, with Epcot a close second. I spent a lot of time there at night last trip and loved it.

Not that you can't easily fill 3 days at the MK and have a blast, but our 2 year old DS LOVED AK. Like others mentioned the shows are perfect for that age and walking around to the see the animals and looking for animals and Kilamanjaro Safaris was so fun. We all loved Tusker House too.

Good luck with your decision. We spent the least amount of time at DS. DS enjoyed a couple meet and greets, Disney Jr. and Toy Story mania, we did the big rides while he napped, but there wasn't a lot to do. We spent more than one day at AK.

My friends just went in mid-April for 4 days and 3 of them were spent at MK, the 4th day at AK (they did MK, MK, AK, MK). One reason was that it was their 3 year old's first trip to WDW. Second reason was that they were at a monorail resort. They definitely did not feel that 3 days at MK was too much and they did say that 1 day at AK was more than enough. Having 3 days at MK meant that they didn't stress about skipping a ride due to a long line -- they'd just try the line again on a different day.

If your kids really really really love animals and want to look at all the different exhibits for a long time, then you may want to consider more time in AK. For us, AK is doable in one day, and we only go there once every 6 months if we have repeat visits to WDW within that timeframe. Plus, none of the long-line attractions at AK were that appealing to our 3 y.o., so we got to see everything we wanted to see.

Epcot and HS have less to do for the younger set, imho, and are best saved for a repeat visit to WDW. MK has the most toddler-friendly attractions. Though during Flower&Garden, Epcot had the most and best play areas set up. I was so impressed and wished the weather had been more cooperative on our trip. We would've liked to have played in more of them.

Way back in the 70s and 80s- all there was was MK! People would stay for a week and go home saying they wish they had more time!
IMO- because there is so much to do, people spend too much time trying to see everything rather than just enjoying the parks.
Last year, we decided not to let our FPs dictate our schedule and had an awesome time just enjoying the park.
