Is 2AM on Sat morning a late check-in for Friday or an early check-in for Saturday?

We have a room res starting on Friday 6/12, but now due to snow days, the kids have to go to school that day - DS is in high school & has exams, so taking them out isn't an option.

If we leave right after school, we won't get to WDW until around 2 AM. Now I'm not sure what to do. Will they hold our Friday room res that long, or is that considered checking in early for Saturday?? :confused3

Thanks!!

2 am is a late Friday check-in. Have them note very late check-in on the reservation. You are guaranteed a room as long as you booked Friday night.

Definitely a Friday check in. Flying from Colorado, we lose two hours and have a long flight. We have often checked in as late or even later than that. They always have our room for us! We've also been able to receive bell services just fine at the moderates but not the values that late (not sure where you are staying).

Personally I wouldn't waste the money going to your Disney resort if you are arriving that late. I would stay at an airport hotel and then take ME to your resort and check-in early Saturday. In other words, I would make my ressie for starting Saturday, not Friday to save money. But, it's your choice.

Yes, that's still Friday. But anytime after 6:30 am you can do early check-in for Saturday (although you may not get your room until 3 pm)

I would still check in Fri night since at least you won't have any more traveling to do after that -- we checked in at midnight last trip and were glad we did. We unpacked while DD slept in the next am.

Thanks everyone, that is helpful. I'll just call DVC Member Services and ask them to note a very late check-in on our res. We are driving down from NC so no airport hotel or ME for us.

We've checked in that late before. I always call them and let them know that we're coming in late. As long as you have paid for the room, they guarantee to hold it for you. And even though it may not be the best value for our $$$, we are so tired when we get to WDW that we are just glad that we are there and dont need to get up early and move the next morning.

One time we took the red-eye and checked-in at 6am -- we had to wait until 3pm for check-in and it was a nightmare -- we were SO tired. I'm never taking the red-eye again!

Well, that savings would depend on your deal - ie if you got a gift card for the checkin on the friday and that is the last day you could have gotten the gift card offer, or if the one night stay is less than the price of the dp, etc...It would be best to check on cost effectiveness of doing this.
