I am going to CSR in June for 9 nights and I was wondering if $200 x 10 days is enough for a family of four to be able to get by without be thrifty? Any help would be great.
Also, this will be after all the trip is paid for except food and spending money.

I think that will be the perfect amount to let you be able to do what you want and not be too cheap, but not going overboard either.

I agree. We are a family of five and that is the amount I budget. Some days when we share a meal here or there, or have appetizers for meals, we come out less. When having a meal, at say, Jiko....we go over $200 for the day. It all evens out for us this way. $200 sounds like alot of money, but at Disney you will be amazed how fast it adds up. :earseek:

I think $200 sounds perfect! My family of four went in '03 and budgeted $150 a day and this worked fine for us...the two kids each had $120 in spending cash that was separate. We ate several sit-down meals, alot of counter service meals and snacks, and off-site sit-downs as well. This year I'm going for the same budget - between $150-175 a day. Have fun planning! :Pinkbounc

We are a family of four (with a 4 and 2 year old). We spent about 125-150 a day and that included souveniors. There were some days where we ate breakfast in the room, since we aren't big on breakfast but for the most part we ate onsite. We had at least one sit down meal a day. So even if your kids are older I would think 200 would be the perfect amount, you might spend more some days and less other days.

I'm budgeting about $200 per day for our family of five, and one of our kids is 13. So I pay adult prices at buffets for him, although he eats off of the kids menu at most sit down restaurants.

We generally do breakast in our room, one sit down meal and one counter service. At sit down restaurants, we might share one appetizer, and we usually don't do dessert, although we do get non alcoholic drinks. We're not big snackers.....we usually share something.

I would think $200 would be fine for a family of four. How old are your kids? If your kids are 9 and under (paying kids meal prices), $350 would be way more than you need.

For example, Chef Mickeys would run you around $98 with tax and tip, But other buffets would be less. Vouchers at AK would be $36, and that would get you lunch and a snack! You'd spend about $30 at Cosmic Rays (counter service) or maybe $70 at Cindy's for lunch.

Personally I think you could have a LOT more fun on $350 a day. One parent could do a spa experience while the other has the kids. Then you could switch off and let the other parent go do the Richard Petty driving experience.

Or you could do something nice for everybody and do a fireworks cruise... Another option is there is a pirate trip for kids over by the magic kingdom. Or everyone can rent mouseboats for a day.

Not all money has to be spent on food and souveniers. After all you are going for 10 days!!! Go ahead and budget $200 a day on average for food and then budget the other $150 for fun.

Thanks everyone for the info I am so glad that 200.00 a day would be enough. I think I will go ahead a budget the 200.00 but have the other 150.00 a day available if I would like to use it. I was worried that 200.00 would be not even close and 350.00 would be just enough to get food and not much more. I am hoping that maybe I can get some kind of discount on the room so that would be even more money for the trip. My original goal was for 500.00 a day but I don’t think I will make that unless I charge some. My main thing about this trip is I want to pay all cash. It looks like now I will be able to do that from what everyone has said. Well I guess that is one less thing I have to worry about. Come on June!!
