$2 should be fine. We generally leave $4-5, but we always ask for extra soap, shampoo towels, etc.

As was said, I'd bet that there are lots that don't tip at all.

the rule of thumb that i typically go by is $1/day/person... although i'll admit, if i don't make up envelopes before we go, i tend to forget and then toss a $10 down every few days...

Last year I only left $2-3 a day depending on what I had on me, and my room was a mess. My kids were 2 & 3 - we are talking crumbs everywhere and garbage cans very, very full.

She always left a thank you note and towel animals on occasion, so I am thinking that was ok with her. I don't know that very many guests tip at all.

This year I am hoping to leave for $4-5 a day.

From everything I have read, Disney does not consider housekeeping a tipped position and they are paid an hourly wage.

I honestly don't know of any state where housekeeping is paid in the same method as wait staff where tips are a standard. Even here in NV which has a huge hospitality industry housekeepers are paid an hourly wage and not subject to the tip wage & withholding guidelines that wait staff is subject too.

We leave $2 per day, before I even leave home I put the money in envelopes pre printed for Mousekeeping. I do this for my parents too. That way, we leave the money each morning, we aren't fumbling around trying to find the right amount, and everyone is happy.

I am confused. Does everyone here tip after every day on a trip? Or am I missing something about everyone's trips here?

Whenever we stay at a resort/hotel for more than one day, we always tip at the end of the trip & then we typically tip per person per day - generally $1.00 to $2.00 per person. If we're only there one night, we tend to lean toward the $2.00 per per/per day because we know they have to (we assume) totally re-do the room changing sheets, etc., where they may not have to do it on consecutive nights.

From what I have read and witnessed myself last summer. You may not have the same mousekeeper every single day(we didn't). So if you tip daily then you are tipping the person doing the work each day. If you wait to the end say you had one mousekeeper for the first 6 days and on the last day you get a new one the new mousekeeper recieves the tips. So I think that is why some tip daily

We do $1 per person/per day...there's 3 of us, so it seems reasonable. I don't mind showing appreciation for the people who clean up after us.

There is a website where you can print out Mousekeeping envelopes. I stuffed mine last night, and will put them in the safe when we get to the resort...pull out one a day, no worries about having enough ones.
