twice-once for breakfast and once for dinner? We'll be taking our 3.5 year old and it sounds like sooo much fun! Worth it? If not, dinner or breakfast?

No, the food is horrible at breakfast and terrible at dinner

It is fun, but the characters at the 2 meals are very different - British Disney for breakfast (generally characters from Pooh, Alice, and/or Mary Poppins) and Cinderalla (Cindy, her Prince, Stepmom & both Stepsis) for dinner. The character interaction at dinner, apart from Cindy & Prince, is geared more towards older kids & adults; only you can tell if that's really a good fit for your 3.5 yr old. Stepmom is appropriately evil and the Stepsis are hysterical but 3.5 may not 'get it'.

That said, you can also get Pooh characters at CP for all 3 meals. Breakfast at CP has an especially good reputation, and you get the bonus of already being in the park.

For that age, you might strongly consider lunch or dinner at CRT (2 TS) or Akershus (1 TS) instead if the draw is pure princesses. For the classical Disney characters, look into dinner at CM's - also at a monorail resort so no real difference in travel time from 1900PF, and you get the Fab 5.

Really? This surprises me. I will be getting ADR for CRT (MK day) and CM (the day we are leaving). I thought I might throw in 199PF with the step sisters. My SL said it *might* scare her as well. Oh well-bummer.

No! We went this past trip and it was dreadful! Years ago I remember it be much better. The food was awful, it seemed overly crowded. Our server was nowhere to be seen (no drink refills, etc). All that, coupled with the lack of windows, made us leave asap... but not before paying our giant bill that we got next to nothing for. Our bad. We'll stick with the better venues in the future.

I thought dinner was not bad at all. Pretty typical buffet food. The stepmother and stepsisters are hilarious! I didn't think they were scary, just really funny. I'm taking my girls, who will be 11 and 12 this October. :)

Still lots of other options, if you also need to fill another dinner and breakfast (as well as having the CRT on MK day and CM the day you leave). For characters, try breakfast in AK at Tusker or at Cape May at BC resort; both are buffets. For other good non-character buffets, Boma gets very high marks at both breakfast and dinner, and Cape May also has a nice seafood dinner buffet.

Or try something completely different, like dinner at the Trails End buffet at Ft Wilderness followed by a wagon ride or by a marshmallow roast/campfire sing-a-long with Chip & Dale, then an outdoors Disney movie (all free! except for the overpriced marshmallows if you forget to bring your own).

We love doing the dinner at 1900 Park Fare! We prefer this to the Castle! Stepsisters/stepmother are hilarious. My kids didn't find them scary at all. The prince and Cinderella dance together, and they have a part where the kids can dance with the characters as well. We love the food there. I've found the dinner food here is better than at some of the other buffets.

If you can get a table in the main dining room, the 'show' part is much better than if you're seating in the side room. (Not sure if you can request this, but it couldn't hurt to try!)

We've also done the breakfast there once, Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, Pooh, Piglet, etc. Breakfast was typcial buffet food. It's not often that you can see Alice and the Mad Hatter though!

lol we r doing both
i couldn't decide between the 2 choices and we have 14 days of ADR's so just thought we should do both. we r also doing CRT and Akerhaus and CM and CP (twice) so maybe a charcter overload but my daughter is 4 and will love it

When you are 4, there is no such thing as character overload.

In fact, when you are 44 there may still be no such thing as character overload. If it's what you would enjoy, go for it - especially since 1900 PF has such different characters at the 2 meals.

We have been 2 times and the food was (on a scale of one to ten) an 8 the first time and a 7.5 the second time. But, the characters were a 10 BOTH times. I would go at least once. princess:

We've done breakfast twice & dinner once. Breakfast was great (love the Mad Hatter), food was very good. Would not care to to dinner again. Nothing against the characters but the dinner buffett was definetly lacking. I ate more on the kids bar than the adult section, lol.

1900 Park Fare is one of the best character experiences. The Mad Hatter is hilarious, as well as the Step Sisters. I thought the interaction was top notch at the dinner. My daughter danced with the Stepsisters and with Prince Charming, they made their way around the tables many times. It was def worth the money for the interaction but I will say the food was just alright. It wasn't bad but it also wasn't out of this world. Will I do 1900 Park Fare again, yes! I just booked my dining today ;)

lol i have to agree with that

We loved the dinner. We went before attending MNSSHP. Our 3 year old spent the next 3 days discussing with anyone that would listen the bad behaviour of the Stepsisters. They spent a good portion of dinner fighting over a shoe. Rolling on the floor fighting over a shoe!!! It was great.

We had a very good server and the food was decent but nothing special. We were a party of ten with 4 very decked out Princesses ( we had spent the morning at the BBB) a Prince, 2 Evil Queens, A very bad Captain, a Duck and a Mouse. Maybe we were given so much attention because we were soooo into the Disney of it...

yes we love breakfast there and a PP said the food was no good is IMO way off. We go every visit. BUT there are so many fun choices I would find a different place for dinner. Unless you are staying at GF and it is strictly a convenience thing I would suggest a different experience for dinner.

We have been to 1900 PF 3 times now. Twice for dinner and once for breakfast. We loved it. The characters were fabulous and very entertaining and the food was pretty good. We are looking at doing a trip in Sept this year and would do 1900 PF (1 BF & 1 D) without a second thought.

I couldnt agree more. The food at dinner was awful!!!! I was sooo disapointed. im not picky, but there were only 2 or 3 items i liked! Mashed potatoes and beef/steak strips. I was apaulled at the lousy kids selection too. It was AWFUL. However, I really enjoyed the characters. They were a riot!! Love the step sisters! They came around very quick thou, it was a bit rushed. But overall a great time. The atmosphere of the place is beautiful too. Those are the only good points unfortunately.

Great, I was planning on this being one of our character dinners! My girls will be 7 & 3 when we go on our upcoming trip. I am tired of eating at the Crystal Palace but the food is kinda important to me!

Is the food about the same as Crystal Palace or worse?
