Is $179 the best RPH rate?

Do you think that the current RPH APH July rate of $179 for a standard room is the best that will be out? Do they ever lower the APH rate once it is out?
The AAA rate is $183. I thought that the APH rate was usually a bigger discount than the AAA.
(Last July the APH rate was $159.)
Thanks in advance.

I too remember $159 AP last summer. I have reserved a room at the AAA rate for August because the AP rate was over $200 as opposed to the $183. Seeing that the rate has only gone down $4 for AP, I will keep my AAA rate. AAA is a qualifying rate for Loews upgrades, and I was upgraded to a King Suite :goodvibes .

It will all depend on how booked the hotel is for your dates. Since its a summer month I doubt you will see lower rates, but you never know. Certain days for May and June went down to $129 weekday and $149 weekend APH rate. I would check once a day to see if they go down for your dates.

Thanks guys!
Yesterday I went ahead and booked. I needed 3 rooms. I got the last 2 queen rooms available on the Club level with APH for $279. I took a standard queen at the AAA rate of $183. I didn't know that the AAA qualifies for an upgrade. That would be fantastic! Now I'm wondering if I should just switch the 2 Clubs to standard at AAA rate. Maybe all 3 could be upgraded. I didn't use the AAA rate last year because the APH rate was so much less.

Question? Now that they have Club on both the 6th and 7th floors do you think the lounge will get too crowded? I have never done Club before so I just don't know how big it is.

I just thought - upgrades are not automatic are they? When I went in July 2004 I was AAA and Loews First and we were not upgraded. I didn't know to ask. We did have a great room however. We looked right out at the Hulk. My kids loved it.

Actually, my kids have turned from Disney kids into Universal kids - and we have converted some cousins.
