Is $113.99 good for a compact for 8 days?

I got a rate of $113.99 for 8 days (4/26-5/3), with the tax and charges it will be $152.23. That's $19.02 per day.

I think it's pretty good. But can I do better?

I don't have an entertainment book with me so I don't know what the coupons say in there. Can I use one of the coupons at the rental desk when I pick up the car? I did use the codefrom walmart BCD code W810011.

Am I just looking a gift horse in the mouth or should I continue to research and tryl to do better?

Thanks !!!!!!!

That sounds like a darn good deal. You might be able to find a coupon, but you might not. Just keep checking back and make a different ressie if rates drop.

does that include all the taxes and everything? who did you get that through? I need to book a car too:bounce:

That is an unreal deal. I always get a compact and have never been lowering than the $200's, make sure you figure in whether or not you going to get insurance. Find out how your auto insurer will cover you.

Sounds pretty good. I would hold onto that reservation unless I found something better!

After weeks of looking, I managed to nail an insane rate of $11 per day for a 13 day compact rental in Sacramento for July, inclusive of taxes with National. $140 all up.

Great rate, who did you get it through?

Peg,
Rates in CA tend to be lower than FL.

Sorry. I forgot to include the rental co. name. It was Budget. I was going to go thru Dollar, but right when I went to book it at the same $113 rate (the same rate with 5 different codes), it went up to $159, then $220.

I was so mad, so I went to work on mousesavers.com. That's when I got the $113 rate. Then right before I went to book it, I get knocked off my internet connection. Then my mom calls. AAARRRGGHHH!!!!! I went back and got it!!

But seeing that peg2001 got a rate of $11 a day, I'll keep trying. I really seem to get off on saving more money. It gives me more money to spend on my trip.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Good luck to you.

I have used Budget a couple of times with absolutely no problems. In fact, once they did upgrade us from a compact to a full sized car.

Gail,

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if my rate was relevant!

Of course it is relevant!!!! It also helps to know what various car agencies charge and where. The sad thing is FL has so many more taxes and fees than CA. Who'd a thunk it? :)

Reading all the posts and hearing it's Budget, then it's a darn good rate. We managed $93 last year with Americar, which resulted in my first unhappy Disney experience. Won't go into it, but let's just say the old addage "you get what you pay for" slapped me between the eyes.

But with Budget, nice rate.
