Is $109 Southwest from Providence to Orlando Good?

I think it's good...we used to pay around that for a "good fare" when we lived in Chicago...we now pay more like $150 coming from Denver for a "good fare" with the not-so-good fares being around $179-$209. Don't see too many under $100 fares anymore unless you are flying short distances on tuesdays and thursdays. You could opt to do what we do and book the outbound and homeward bound flights separately, then watch the fares and rebook either if the price drops. You have a year to use the credit.

If you'll fly out of PVD regardless then YES!!!!! Book it! Occasionally I'll see the price go down to $97 but typically that's the lowest I see it. It seems as though all the New England airports are blacked out to Orlando during the big sales.

I can fly into Boston or Providence so thinking of just going with the flight down and then possibly doing a different airline back, I only fly every other year so haven't been looking at fares for the last year.

You won't get nonstops from MCO to BOS through SWA if nonstop is important to you. JetBlue has pretty good prices for nonstops out of PVD, BOS, and ORH (Worcester) and also has 1 free checked bag. If you're willing to go a bit further you can also look at SWA out of MHT.

If you fly from one airport and back to another, will this be a problem for transportation to and from the airport?

Flights have gone up a lot from New England over the past few years. We seem to get blacked out of a lot of specials and the ones we're not blacked out of seem to have high prices..

One nice thing about SW is if you book at $109 and the price drops they will give you the difference in credit you can use for future flights. Although you have to request the adjustment, it doesn't happen automatically.

I've been checking southwest flights from pvd and bdl. I booked return at 109 because I just haven't been seeing the under $100 flights I used to get. The flights from bdl finally went down a little this morning so I was able to rebook and get a better time.

Southwest has non stops out of pvd and bdl, mht too. Last time I checked., Southwest prices and times were way better for the days I'm looking at.

Depends when you are traveling... We have gone Jet Blue from Boston to Orlando non stop for $89/per way p/p

I agree, book it. I have been checking flights out of PVD starting back in October. had already booked the BCV for August and thought I would have to watch for SW flights to open up for my time frame. Found Delta had an great price.
Booked 8/22-8/31/14(Labor day weekend) for $228.00 rt all taxes included.
Even now, those same days are up only $25.00 per person.

Don't forget- you can check two suitcases free for each passenger. That can make a huge difference.

Yes! Book one way, apply for the SW Rapid Rewards Visa, and get the flight home for free! If you are good w/ ccs, you can fly SW nonstop even during peak times for free by charging everything on the SW RR Visa.
Parking at PVD is really inexpensive, so take that into account, too. It's our favorite airport for MCO flights.

I would book it. Also, i agree with getting the SW card. We charge everything and it is awesome. Free flights and if yiu need to cancel or rebook for a lower price the points go right back into your account!

For when? I am paying $133 one way from Pittsburgh to Orlando in May. I haven't seen it lower. Sounds like your rate is good. Personally I would book it.

OP, I would book at $109. remember that you are not paying baggage fees and if you see lower fares, you can rebook and get credit.

One thing to try is checking one seat at a time instead of multiple seats at a time. Sometimes you can get one or two seats at a lesser price than you would with multiple seats. It will give you different confirmation numbers, but that's not a big deal, really.

You can still get $59? That would be awesome. In 2006, we got $39 each way. That was an awesome deal. Those days are over at least in Pittsburgh.
