in a little tv (32") ? I really can't tell a difference in the 720p & the 1080p
:confused3

Or is there something I'm missing?

We will not be watching much in sports - maybe 1 game of SEC football a week & that's about it - no blueray disks - pretty much only TLC or Discovery Channel. Actually probably gonna drop DirecTV when the contracts up - watch more on regualr tv than on cable/satellite.

Necessary, no. No TV is necessary. If you can't see a difference then don't waste your money. Some people have better eyes or at least more discerning. If you don't I would just go with the 720 and save the cash.

If your gonna buy a new tv then go for it all and don't settle. 1080p is amazing.

:thumbsup2 I totally agree. We have a 1080p 40" in our living room, and after we have seen how great it is, when we bought a smaller 23" for our bedroom, we even got THAT in 1080p.

Just regular old HD television is just fine in 720p, since that is as good as it gets... so far... but a Blu Ray disc player is useless without 1080. And nothing compares to Blu Ray quality. :woohoo:

I disagree, I have a small 17in HD TV in my bedroom and the best I get with my Blu-Ray player is 480p and occasionally 1080i though I am not sure how. And they both look fine to me. And really for 32in 720p is just fine. Any bigger and I would suggest 1080Pp.

You can't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p with that size screen unless you are like 2 feet away. A higher refresh rate actually worsens image quality stick with the normal 60.

Any TV under 40" does perfectly fine with 720p -- it's been well documented. You won't notice a difference between the 720p and the 1080p on a screen so small.

Thanks for the info! I figure if we ever get ready to upgrade to a Blue-Ray & all that by then there'd be some other magical tv out there & maybe by then we can go all out:laughing: or @ least the prices of the 1080p's will be dirt cheap & sold on Craigslist by then - we're always at least 1 step behind in technology!:happytv:

I know I stayed in a hotel (one @ the Marriot Village in Orlando) that had some TERRIBLE tv there - don't have a clue what it was & that's what I DON"T want - anything is better than that - it was large (40" at least) & you couldn't see a blame thing while sitting right in front of it - it was like we were too close to it - it was a bit better looking @ it from the side. I'm tempted to call the hotel to find out what it was just so I know what NOT to buy!:thumbsup2
