Is 1 bedroom at Aulani worth it?

Your forearms are going to be solid sparkly pool bands with 11 nights. We did 8 in a two bedroom (pool/garden) and at the end, did wish it would have lasted a little longer.

Traveled the island though. If like rum..will see Ko Hana. Go to their field to source Distillers when go to or return from the Dole Plantation area.

Yes we also stayed at Disney world for a month on our first stay so you can see what kind of travelers we are 🤣🤣 if im paying the plane ticket I want to be there as long as possible! I dont drink alcohol butttt I could make an exception for Hawaii! Im doing it for the wine social at DCA just because I need to get my money's worth on these direct benefits 🤣

Sorry getting off your topic but also during your travels if you can stop & have a coconut picked fresh off the tree, whacked with a machete, straw into it, then hit the road again is pretty cool too.

This YouTube is a brief tour of a lockoff, so you can see the Studio and 1 BR side by side. Makes the bathroom situation more clear than I can do with words.

Also - I say if you have a car to explore and you want to spend the points, 11 days at Aulani sounds like heaven to me!

Haven't read all responses. Here are my thoughts.

Washer dryer in Hawaii is a must for me.
Food is expensive a kitchen saves money.
Ocean View isn't worth the extra points over island garden view if you don't have the points to spare.
11 days is too long even if visiting the parts of the island and other parts of the island are currently in distress so I would not plan so many days around other island adventures.
Pool refurb is set to last until May 8th so if something goes wrong and they extend it could impact your trip drastically and you will be there 11 days...

I would go studio and a 1 bed or 2 bed. 5 people in a studio in Hawaii... absolutely not. Id just not go tbh.

Those are all good points. 11 days would be really long for me, too. I'd rather island hop if I was going to be there that long. Of course, I admittedly hate sitting around when I'm on vacation. Some people are happy to not do anything for several days in a row. 😮

I think I'd be okay in a studio for a couple nights and then move to the one bedroom to save points. That's assuming that I'll be out all day for the studio and moving day.

There's no way to predict how long it'll take Hawaii to repair and replace everything destroyed by the rain. I'm sure it's a tough balance for those who live there. They need us to come spend money, but they also need us to get out of the way. We're tentatively planning on just spending time in Ko Olina and possibly Waikiki even though my great love for the island is everything on the North shore.

Do the one bedroom for sure. The kitchen and laundry are a huge advantage. If you have a washer and dryer, you never have to pack more than will fit in a carry on. Buy a frozen lasagna, put the oven on timer, and come back from the beach with dinner cooked and ready.
If you plan to be out and about a lot, 11 days will not be a problem. The one bathroom issue shouldn't be either depending on how you spend your time.
One of the things we insist on with bigger groups in one bedrooms is that all beds are stowed and luggage is controlled every morning. That way you have the full living room to chill in during the day - Big bonus.

That’s the spirit! Lol

Interesting to see this. We've been 6 times, so you'd think I'd know the differences, but we've always stayed in dedicated 2-bedrooms. Really interesting to see the differences in the dedicated vs. lock-off. In the dedicated 2 bedroom, there are the following differences:

  • Additional 1/2 bath off of hallway entry
  • Twin sleeper chair in living room
  • Drawers in cabinet under TV instead of pull down bed
  • Second bedroom has 2 Queen beds instead of 1 Queen Bed/1 Sofa pullout
Also, in regards to Costco, make sure to get the 2.5 lb. bags of Royal Kona Vanilla Macadamia Nut coffee for the week. You are welcome!
