IRS warns churches against campaigning

True...

But I guess I would expect that if a constituent or someone on behalf of the constituent asks a question..they deserved more than to be ignored.

Point taken. But why not then just read about their stance online? Or watch a debate? I'm not trying to start a fight..just trying to see the whole picture.

If not being ignored is the real issue then would it be acceptable if the candidate just sent a form letter?

Personally I would rather be ignored as the person sending the letter. Sending something that doesn't answer the questions is more of a slap in the face IMO.

What's going to happen to race-mongering Dems like the "reverend" Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton??

Same goes for them. If you read the thread you would see that no one is disagreeing with you.

My mothers Catholc Church made it quite clear to her that her immortal soul would be in danger if She voted for Kerry... My Mother, a lfelong democrat voted for Bush... I don't know the context however of just just how this was made clear

hi Jenny, here were are again talkin religion tonight :)

It is our duty as Catholics and Christians to protect life. In an election year, we as Catholics can protect life by voting to protect life. I have never heard a priest tell anyone who to vote for, but I have received literature from various Catholic associated groups (but not the church itself) list candidates views (including if they are pro-choice or pro-life) so that I can make an informed decision. Im assuming your mom voted based on a piece of literature like this.

Although priests at every church are different, so I can't speak for your mother's..........I assume that the context was similar to some homilies (sermons) that I've heard in the past. It is our duty as Catholics and Christians to protect life. In an election year, we as Catholics can protect life by voting to protect life. I have never heard a priest tell anyone who to vote for, but I have received literature from various Catholic associated groups (but not the church itself) to this affect.
My mother is one of those people who doesn't agree with everything the catholic church says or does..She converted in the 50's and says it's due to her Methodst upbringing.. She has been known to go against church teaching, so I'm really surprised she let this influence her

I'm a convert.. I was raised Catholic... I left Catholicism when became an adult...Studdied and was a member of some other Christian denoms throughout the 90's.. I went back to the Catholic Church for a short time in the mid -90's..Eventually,I realizied I was looking in the wrong place(Christianty in general) for me.. I had a lifelong interest in Judaism ,fueled mainly by years of studying the Holocaust and made the decision in 2002,to convert to Judaism...To make a very long story short
