IRS Refund Schedule?

Hi Everyone,

If I remember correctly, last year the IRS had a "refund schedule" available. Based on when you filed your taxes, would indicate when you could expect your refund to be Direct Deposited.
Anyone remember this? Anyone know if they have that same info this year? I checked www.irs.gov, but couldn't find anything.

I'm not aware of any schedule but when we filed by mail the refund was always sent out on a Friday.

There was a schedule for the child tax credit checks that were sent out last year.

We now e-file and use direct deposit and have our refund in our account the 2nd Friday after we file-always less than 10 days. It's wonderful!

You can call the IRS and they will ask you certain things by the automated system. They will then tell you if they have received your return, if it is being processed and when the refund will be mailed out.

I keep seeing news articles that refunds are supposed to be about 25% larger this year for the average tax payer. I hope these articles are correct.

If you file electronically and request direct deposit with your check, it is normally 3-4 weeks. Checks are normally deposited on a friday.

If you file electronically and request a paper check 6-8 weeks

You can also check online and see if your refund has been received/processed etc..
I think the link is titled "WHERES MY REFUND" or something like that.

I havent filed yet- lucky you!! My W2 wont be here until next Thursday. Luckily DH and I file seperatly..he wont have his tax stuff done till late March...if we're lucky.

Got your refund already spent? I did my taxes with turbotax earlier last week with my last pay stub for info...and YES, my refund is already earmarked LOL!
Living in Vermont has its benefits too, we have state income tax...
it's usually about 1/4 of federal, which is a nice chunk!

Wow, we e-file and Always have our check the following Friday. For example, if we file on Wed. the 3rd we would have our check by Friday the 12th.

Don't forget to take advantage of every available deduction that you can-mortgage interest, student loan interest, EIC, job hunting expenses, child tax credit, etc.

I CAN'T wait to do our taxes this year.

If you go to www.taxact.com, when their home page comes up, go to the left side and click on "e-file refund cycle chart" and it will give you the IRS refund schedule.

I e-filed on 1/22/04 and was told my schedule for direct deposit should be 1/30/04 (but to allow the bank 24-48 hours to process it and get it into my account). Since I do payroll at work, I was able to get all our w2's out early - it's nice to have that refund sitting in my vacation account when everyone else is still scrambling to get their "stuff" together.

When we efile it seems to be about 2 weeks before the money is in our account.

It always takes ours 3 weeks and always on Fridays. We are still waiting on our W-2's. They'll probably mail them out on Jan 31.

That's it....I used taxact last year...and that's where I remembered seeing the chart.
