As I said I went to IRS's website and did an electronic payment as a guest. It has now been pulled out of my bank account. Whew, feel better now knowing I paid by the deadline. I'm not concerned about not applying to our account, as I have all the backup of the transaction. Thanks for everyone's suggestions on this.

Sounds like you have the bases covered. I had an issue with my gym when it was sold. They wanted to hit me for late charges when I had auto pay. ALL their auto payments were set up incorrectly so all the banks kicked them back as fraudulent transactions. They manager was helpful but was going to waive the fee as a courtesy until I said
"how can I be responsible for a late payment we the GYM was the one to messed it up". I guess I was the first one in to question it, and she said...."yeah, didn't think about that. I think I will be reversing a lot of late charges"
