I can deal with roaches, spiders.., but snakes.. ahhhh!!:scared1:

Bats! I can't even think about them without getting a shiver.

I hate snakes, though I think my hatred has over shadowed my fear.

I am not afraid of either spiders or snakes. I actually encourage spiders to live outside in our yard. :)

The thing I am most afraid of is needles. When I was a little kid, I had to have blood drawn and they were having a booger of a time getting it from me because I was screaming, crying and basically throwing the mother of all temper tantrums. At one point, the doctor has a nurse and my mother hold me down while I'm bawling my eyes out and he jabs me in the neck with the needle so he can get the blood he needs.:scared1: Ever since then, I've had a deep fear of needles.
When I was pregnant and had to have blood drawn umptyump # of times, DH had to hold my hand and help keep me from flipping out on the nurse. The last time I had blood drawn, DH couldn't be th ere with me because he had to watch DS. So I closed my eyes really, really tightly and started singing "It's A Small World" to myself. I'm sure the nurse thought I was bonkers, but at least I didn't start freaking out on her, hyperventilating and stuff the way I usually do when somebody comes near me with a needle.
I know exactly how you feel about needles. A little word of friendly advice try butterfly needles they don't seem quite as bad

Planes and lighting. Its so have woken up at night during a storms and gotten dressed. Dont know what that will help :lmao: We get alot of planes overhead and a few weeks ago one woke me up and I swore it was going to hit the house.. I scarred the crap out of my dh.

I don't mind spiders or snakes.

My big fear? Robots. I hate 'em. I know it is irrational, but I have an intense physical reation every time I see one. Even a robot costume. I just know that one day they're gonna take over the world, killing us all with emotionless precision!! :scared1: ;)

I've never heard of anyone else with this phobia...am I the only one??

Fish. Yes, I said it. Fish. They are squiggley, squirmy, blank staring, slimey, disgusting things. I cannot look at them. I would never eat them. I don't even like to talk about them. :scared: :scared1:

Funnily enough, my favorite Disney movie is Finding Nemo. :rotfl: Cartoon fish are okay ;)

Spiders, along with any other insect. They just scare the living wits out of me.

One of my more irrational fears happens to be in my tag. I never expected for it to end up there. Now it will haunt me forever! :rotfl:

Those cans of biscuits scare the snot out of me. i can't open one. I just know that it's going to explode and kill me in the process. Thankfully, my kids love to open the cans. And there i am, cringing away and holding my breath as theyr're opening them.

Cotton balls. I am serious. If I open a bottle of tylenol or something that has a cotton ball in it I have to get the hubby to get it out and I can't watch him do it. I can't explain it. I've always been that way. Probably some deep dark childhood trama that I don't care to uncover. I don't like to see them and I definately can't stand to touch them. It makes my teeth hurt just to hear someone else touch them, if that is even possible to hear a cotton ball.

Planes freak me out too. Actually, it's more airports and the intense security than planes.

Have you ever been on a plane during a lightening storm? We had that coming back from LAX, we we're over DC and they had a wicked storm. It was freaky, I couldn't look away but I was petrified the whole time thinking "Is this safe?".

ants. Can't feel 'em when they crawl on you. Give me a cockroach any day, just don't leave me around any ants please!

I googled it and there are a few people out there that do share your phobia, believe it or not. And just a hunch, but I am guessing you would not be interested in seeing the movie "i, Robot" with Will Smith in it, would you? :rolleyes1

My phobia?

Bees.

I was chased by a huge swarm of bees when I was a kid and I never got over it. I see one bee and I run for cover!

I also have problems with bees of any kind. I stepped on a few too many with bare feet as a kid. I can't tell you how many times I had to sit with my feet in epsom salt because of the stingers.

I am not afraid of either spiders or snakes. I actually encourage spiders to live outside in our yard. :)

Needles have always been a big thing for me too.

I have had my teeth drilled on with no novocaine because I was more afraid of the shot. I made a deal with the dentist that I would hold really still while he drilled as long as there was no needle. I was probably about 11 or 12 at the time and boy was my mom upset with the dentist when she found out.

Another time at the dentist (different one), I was still screaming and crying after taking a relaxer and having gas. I even bit the dentist's hand.

When I had to get a checkup before going to college, I had to have my shots updated. I couldn't go through with it the day of the appointment. I had to go back the next day to have them done.

But, in the last few years, my fear of needles has seemed to lessen. I've been in the hospital and been poked by needles with little problem. Although I think I would still have a problem with the dentist.

Ooh, I thought of something! I'm afraid of rollercoasters. I've never been on one. I HATE HATE HATE the butterflies in my stomach feeling so I avoid it at all cost. I came very close to going on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad once, but chickened out at the last minute. That's the closest I've come to a rollercoaster. :lmao:
I used to be scared of the ones that went upside down. But then I started dating a guy who loved coasters. So now I like most of them. I still won't do one standing up though. The slower the coaster is going upside down, the more problems I have. I just feel like I'm falling out of my seat and don't feel safe. The faster ones just push you into the seat, so I'm fine with those.

ants. Can't feel 'em when they crawl on you. Give me a cockroach any day, just don't leave me around any ants please!

Ooohh! Yeah! I'm not really afraid of them. But I don't like them crawling on me. When I was a kid, I sat down at the table to eat and felt like something was biting my butt. I got up and saw a bunch of ants in the seat.
I actually had ants in my pants. I freaked out so bad. To this day, I still hate that phrase.

As for the poll, snakes is my answer. I can kill spiders. I don't like them, but I can get near enough to kill them.

I'm afraid of those creepy ambulances from the 60's, you know the ones that look like hearses and have the really annoying sirens? If I see one, I get really claustrophobic and sometimes hyperventilate and have bad dreams. This fear is really weird because my favorite show is Emergency! from the 70's and 80's.

Actually, any old medical equipment from about pre-1984 creeps me out. I think that comes from taking a tour of the local historical fort when I was a kid and we had to go to the "hospital" and the tour guide was rather, um, graphic...

I don't like watching medical procedures in black and white (such as in the movies) and I think surgeons in their gowns are really creepy (on tv, not in the operating room though).

When I was a kid I had a fear of buses. Good thing I didn't have to ride one to school!

I also fear the Wizard of Oz. I watched it late one night when I was a kid and haven't been able to watch it since. :confused3 As much as I like the great movie ride, I don't like that part in it.

I'm not really scared of bugs, but I don't necesarilly like them. Snakes I'm fine with. Don't like needles or bees.

But my absolute biggest fear is clowns. I hate clowns. They scare the crap out of me. I think they're disgusting and awful. I can't explain it.

SNAKES! Yuck. I'm afraid of anything that "slithers" actually. Don't get me started on worms... yes worms :scared1:
