Irons on the Wonder

There are decent irons and ironing boards in the laundry rooms. They are seen as a fire hazard and are not permitted in cabins for that reason.

No irons nor steamers are allowed in the stateroom.. It is against fire code. Actually if your SRH sees one in the room, it will be "kept in a safe place" until the last night. They do have them in the laundry rooms on the ship and there is a pretty cheap pressing service on board. I will fins an old thread with pricing information. Others here swear by that downey release spray as well. I just have never used it.:)

I love Downey Wrinkle Releaser!!!!! Just spray it on your clothes, give them a pull and then let it dry.

Before they started making travel size bottles, we would transfer some into a smaller container to take it with us. I called the Downey people and suggessted that they make it in a travel size, they thanked me for the tip and sent me a bunch of coupons :)

I assume that there is a laundry service? Does anyone know the charges to have your clothes sent out for pressing?

Um, I am a BIG ironer...I iron EVERYTHING. And I swear I will try Downy Wrinkle Releaser next time. Because the irons were fine but the ironing boards were TERRIBLE...dirty, SMALL and very awkward to use. Yes, I used them and will again, but it wasn't a fun experience. I am all for convenience so I may use the laundry service next time too!!!

I had the room right across from the laundry room and it does get crowded before formal night. My wife was amazed at the number of men lined up to iron their shirts! She thought that was great!:rotfl:

That sounds nasty...thanks for the heads up, I will take a towel to lay the clothes on or ask the room stewart for a table cloth or something. I have used the wrinkle release and threw them in the dryer for a few minutes first...it really help. :thumbsup2 DCL has a lot of washer/dryers...while on the PCL there was only 2 in each laundry room and if you didn't keep on top of it people would take you stuff out. :sad2: :laundy:

The idea that DCL has "lots" of washers and dryers is a bit relative. There are 4 of each in each of 3 laundry rooms--12 washers, 12 dryers on the ship for guests to use. They have timers on them that show how many minutes till your cycle is completed. If you don't show up to get your things out, waiting guests will remove your laundry and place it on the table!

Yes, it is a good idea to place a towel on the ironing board before using. It's amazing that the irons are clean and well maintained but the ironing board covers really are yucky sometimes.

I would try the wrinkle releaser. I had to wait for an iron many times on our 4 night cruise! Plus there were so many people using the washers and dryers it was getting a little packed in the laundry area. I was thinking it was almost not worth it to iron my clothes because it was a little congested in there!!
