Ironing Question

I just ironed on my first one, and it came out 'funny' with some circle-y spots over it. I've determined these are the same circle-y spots on the bottom of my iron. Is there any 'secret' to avoiding this?

PS - the design looks awesome on my light blue shirts! Besides the circle-y polka dot pattern.

Two things I can think of...
Was the surface you were ironing on hard, ie not the ironing board or overly cushioned? I have a hard worktable specifically for ironing, but know from the past with trying transfers on shirts with an ironing board they come out warpy so always use a hard table, or towel on a floor or counter top.

Did you hold the iron in the same place for a long time vs keeping it constantly in motion over the entire graphic (and beyond)? If you think the holes lined up to the pattern on the iron I would say keep it in constant motion from the start so the entire transfer stays constantly heated. Maybe even try re ironing our current shirt a bit more to see if those could be fixed.

Hopefully someone else may have some ideas.

I am using my big piece of countertop as a work surface, so good and hard. I did hold the iron still - the transfer paper said not to move it. I have a scrap one that I messed up while printing, I'm going to try that one with the constant motion. Thanks for the tip, cross our fingers!

Go semi slow when you start so you don't stretch or skew the transfer... you don't need to move the iron too much or too fast but a little movement once the design is placed should be just fine. :thumbsup2

It worked!!! They turned out great!! Yippee!! How many more sets of shirts can I make before next week??? LOL
