I am an avid ironer (if that's even a word LOL) I go through irons like crazy and I'm sick of it. I was just in the middle of ironing and poof...the thing starts smoking. I was waiting for it to literally burst in flames. I have always bought my irons at Walmart, Target, Kmart, etc, so I have never paid more than $30-$40. So I went online to QVC and noticed that the one that my MIL has was like $89 (on sale) but of the 5 reviews that it had, they all gave the iron only 1 star rating. But then there's a similar Rowenta one for $45 and had a 3 star rating. This is driving me nuts.
I still had a lot of ironing to do so I asked my MIL to borrow hers. She has a Rowenta from QVC and told me I NEED to order myself one. I've seen the demonstrations of them on QVC and have always been intriqued on how good they are. Well, after using hers, I really can't say that there was much of a difference between that one and the ones that I always use (Black/Decker, Sunbeam, etc) Except that hers was really heavy compared to what I've always used.
The problems that I've always had was water leaking, cord breaking and now smoking....
What is your favorite brand and how much was it? And what's the average life of an iron?
