In the podcast from yesterday, John was talking about news and included information about movie profits. He mentioned Iron Man 2 was going to help boost profits this quarter, and Pete mentions that Iron Man 2 was being "trashed".

I'm not sure I agree with "trashed" as the right adjective. Rotten Tomatoes gives Iron Man 2 a 74% Fresh rating. Of course, the first Iron Man had a 93% rating, but 74% is still reasonable.

i loved iron man 2.

I was like the only one who got the disney jokes in it.

I haven't seen it yet, but 2 or 3 reviews that I have read didn't trash it, they said was good, but they said it didn't have the charm and quirkiness of the first one. I'm hoping to see it this weekend.

Yahoo movies is giving Iron Man 2 an average B- from the critics and A- from it's users and I would agree. I would not call that being "trashed". I enjoyed the movie - especially it's Disney references.

 Ironman 2 as well. :thumbsup2

Funny I'd just watched The Soloist on blu-ray the nite before and it was interesting to see RDJr again. The Walt Disney reference on Nathaniel's cap cracked me up. :rotfl:

cheers,
:flower3:

I didn't like it as much as the first one, but I did like it.

Compared to "Furry Vengeance", which I suffered through last week, it is practically Oscar worthy. :rotfl:

I actually liked it better than the first one! But then again Robert Downey Jr. can do no wrong in my book. :thumbsup2

if you don't already know this, all the Marvel fans out there stay through the credits, you won't be disappointed;)

it was good........it was however a "bridge" movie leading up to the Avengers series. as is Captain America and Thor next year. dont worry, with Disney holding the reins you will be trampled by many a Marvel Superhero in the next six years.

I enjoyed the movie, but it was too much like the first one IMHO. The action was a little slow and could have used a little more of a twist in the plot line.

Although this was pretty much a standalone story. I don't see Hammer or Whiplash showing up in The Avengers. Everything Avengers related was just icing to the actual story.

funny! I asked another italian disney friend if he got the disney jokes and he told me there weren't:faint:... so I think I'll have to watch Ironman 2 to get them myself

What are the Disney Jokes?

i'm gettin old....... i only remember this one........ "spoiler alert" ........it is a part where Starks father is on old film and it is almost a direct theft of Walt discussing the Florida project and then the epcot city.

I really liked Iron Man 2, although I really  Robert Downey Jr. I thought it had tons of action and kinda wished I paid the extra money to see it in Imax.
I couldn't stay past the credits, could someone PM me what happened in the Marvel fan scene?

I was absolutely geeking out when they did that and no one else in the theater got it :rotfl::rotfl: That's what I get for being up in yankee land! Had I been in AMC PI 24, everyone would have understood.
