Exactly, do you ever say to yourself; "Whats the use?"![]()
Yes, but if we don't stop trying to snap people out of their ignorant slumber, it'll continue to spread.
So, we go on trying...

At times I feel like I should change my name to "Dawn Quixote".![]()
The occupation of the West Bank is unjust. If Israel gives it up, perhaps the Palestinians will come to the conclusion that Israel is acting in good faith. Israel is strong enough to crush the Palestinians no matter where the launch their attacks. I say you can't expect anything from the Palestinians until you throw them a bone. You didn't say "Israel should end settlement s because it'll be a good thing." You said that Israel should stop settlements, Palestinians should have their own state, and then there will be peace in the middle east. If you know anything about past and present Mid East history, you know that math doesn't add up.
Ending settlements purely to get Jews out of the West Bank in itself is not good. Palestinians are both asking for Jews to get out of the West Bank and to allow Palestinians to go back into Israel and get their previous homes. Meaning they want to remove or replace Jews. Jews have no chance of becoming citizens of the future Palestinian state. Settlements in itself are not pure evil, while they do not help.
The evil here is that Palestinians want Jews out of Israel total. Israel removed all Jewish settlements from Gaza, gave Gaza back to the PA, and it turned into a launching pad for Hamas into Israel. Palestinians also destroyed the economic infrastructure that the Israelis left behind - such as greenhouses and factories that produced alot of money and jobs - in their celebration of getting Gaza back. Even now, after Israel pulled their troops out, rockets are still being launched into Sderot and Ashkelon from Gaza into civilian areas. Do you truly think it is because Gazans are fighting for the West Bank to be liberated? Read the Hamas charter - you'll get your answer.
Why should Israel remove their presence from West Bank in order to make it easier for the Palestinian terrorists to kill more Israelis? Does Israel need to be sandwiched by two Gazas? There are too many Palestinians who won't stop their fighting until all infidels are removed from the Mediterranean to the Jordan, and the moderate Fatah is teaching their youth the same thing in the official PA schooltexts (being taught in UNRWA schools, mind you), so waiting another generation is pointless.
Your "No settlements + Palestinian State next to Israel = Peace in Mid East" is simply naive, ignorant, or terribly biased against Israel, IMHO.

You understand that it isn't an 'occupation", right? They won a war and claimed the land as a buffer between them and their enemies. They let the Palestinians stay. As it turns out, that was their mistake...

No - if the land is yours, it is not occupation - it is annexing. The land is Israel's to do with as they please. As I said, their mistake was in not throwing out the Palestinians on day 1...That's the definition of an occupation, isn't it? You win land in a war, and you don't give it back.
If you think there will be peace in the Middle East, EVER, you are naive. I think that you know better...And if you really think there wil be peace in the Middle East without a Palestinian state, you really are in no position to call me naive.

Now hold the horses, that's impossible to forecast. There's a heluvva lotta time ahead of us and only God Himself knows what'll happen.

And if you really think there wil be peace in the Middle East without a Palestinian state, you really are in no position to call me naive.
There is only one way to settle this: pistols at twenty paces.
