I know that an ipod touch can connect to any free wifi that's available but how secure is it? Is it ok to log into email with your user name and password or what if you don't have to enter that info and it's already saved on the ipod, is that way more secure? If someone wanted to could they 'see' your ipod and what's on it?

Or is this something that really isn't worth worrying about?

I mean I guess DS won't be doing much other than maybe checking his email, facebook and looking up something on the web.

It's pretty secure. My husband is a Mac junky and (not kidding here) we both have iPhones, we gave our 4 year old the old iTouch, I'm typing this on a MacBook Pro, he has a few old iBooks (I think? They're white, thats all I know), we have an iPad.... Joe is literally a junky. I use wifi wherever I go if its available. Chances are that nobody really cares enough to "hack" into his ipod to see whats on there. He'll be fine! My mom has an iTouch, too. It came with the MacBook Pro! If my mom can use the iTouch without it being hacked into and stolen and whatever else, I'm sure your son can handle it =) Merry Christmas to your son!!! Santa is awesome in your house!!!!

If you use your own wireless router with security properly set you're usually fine, but public wifi is a totally different story. Take care not to join networks when you're not sure of the source......:surfweb:
